Me and my mate bought a couple of Eines from japan last year and got stung by the 20% import duty. However my mate got this down to 5% and a refund- Had to write to customs and excise with a description of the works, explaining that they were limited edition silk screen prints hand pulled by the artist. There's also an import code for works of art which you can quote on the parcel- although we used this and they still hit us with the 20%. I usually get round this by getting the seller to mark the value of the print less than $100.
