Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by fuzzed on Dec 4, 2010 11:48:20 GMT 1, I've been struggling to keep up with this post! I do like this print, hopefully we will know how it's going to be released soon, kind of hoping for a lottery as chances of me getting to London are pretty slim!

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Smith and Stuff on Dec 4, 2010 12:07:03 GMT 1, the sooner the release date is announced the longer the longer the que will be. if it is announced like the others the night/ evening before hand there will only be 18ish hours to wait and anyone who decides to que will have a defined but survivable period of frozen misery as opposed to possibly days if annonced days before hand. i think the process will work just fine if they keep the pattern of releases up

Agreed. But some of us need a 3 hour drive to get to london so midday before the release would be great....
The drive from the southern midlands down to bristol (to pick up a fellow fan) then across the M4 is not a great drive. Sometimes POW must understand that there are fans all over the country and not just London because if there was not would Banksy be the same person now without the Bristol scene backing him?

I think you and your friend will be fine if you don't make to M&S the instant the release is announced. Last year I remember that the last person in the que who managed to get a print arrived at around 4am and the shop opened at 9ish so that was around a six hour wait. Plus its colder this year, much colder so only the real crazies will put themselves through this ordeal.
Does anyone think there will be more grief from passers by in this location as opposed to commercial st... que will be near that seedy little porn street... I suppose we'll spot a few embarrassed dads emerging with suspicious paper bags tucked under arm.

Definitely not in the next 24 hours. There is a pattern emerging, stay calm and keep your eyes open and you'll spot it

If you go on the basis of 3-5 mins perprint and to fill in the COA and with 3 people serving then it could take 5 hours in total to get in and out the shop if you are at the end of the que......

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by twinkle on Dec 4, 2010 13:27:58 GMT 1, The real problem for POW is the adaptive behaviour of all of us!!!!
If I was POW I'd know whatever I do won't be universally accepted, this is something I can't help
Secondly, as I'm POW I know that the natural instinct is for people to learn from last year and that I definitely don't want people queuing for days and days. Its not acceptable to the public and the police, and it shouldn't happen.
From next week I'd release the lottery details (one for UK and one for rest of the planet) sign up and state categorically that there will be no prior warning on which day the print will be released in the shop, factors like weather etc are an issue and so it could be ANY DAY in December. I would simply state that the website will get updated at 4pm on the day before the release (emails sent out etc) and that the print will go on sale 7am the next morning. Those that want to queue can earn the right to buy the print by having to wait in the cold, this will deter some chancers. POW collects credit card details of those joining the queue and only those details with the appropriate card are used for the transaction the next day (unless prior approval for cash is granted by POW), and thios would stop queue jumping too.
Sounds fair and straightforward to me.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by grafik on Dec 4, 2010 13:44:42 GMT 1, I think we should lock this thread, its a joke and it happens every year. lets just sort out the facts and then any newbie who asks a stupid question can be burnt at the stake.
Facts. 1. there is a shop in soho, 2. there will be a banksy in december
Other info. 1. There may or may not be a... instore / online lottery, online release, bunfight, Q, give away, dora shoots them out of her arse into the crowd, 2. POW take both cash and card. 3. We will know what happens when fucking POW post it on the site. dont panic, chill out, and stop asking stupid questions. Your not going to influence POW by posting your reccommedations on here.
thats all. see you when we know some more.

no i live here, its not dangerous. There may, may, be a little trouble at night if its a Q, but no more than if it was at POW commercial road.

Be quiet Richy you fascist!
Speculation is the reason for Banksys success as an artist - people get hyped into actually liking pretty terrible images just because they don't want to miss out on their chance to get a banksy at source. Same every year.
I think we should lock this thread, its a joke and it happens every year. lets just sort out the facts and then any newbie who asks a stupid question can be burnt at the stake. Facts. 1. there is a shop in soho, 2. there will be a banksy in december Other info. 1. There may or may not be a... instore / online lottery, online release, bunfight, Q, give away, dora shoots them out of her arse into the crowd, 2. POW take both cash and card. 3. We will know what happens when f**king POW post it on the site. dont panic, chill out, and stop asking stupid questions. Your not going to influence POW by posting your reccommedations on here. thats all. see you when we know some more. Be quiet Richy you fascist! Speculation is the reason for Banksys success as an artist - people get hyped into actually liking pretty terrible images just because they don't want to miss out on their chance to get a banksy at source. Same every year.
