Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Sweetcorn on Jan 6, 2014 0:29:01 GMT 1, Hey Sean no dis-respect intented to other forum members everyone is welcome to state their opinion on price , I just found it easier to go straight to the horses mouth when dealing with Banksy's. Why would POW be an expert on 3rd party sale prices? Do they ask how much you paid when you register your prints? If not I'd bet they are out of touch with prices. I think they have more interesting things to concern themselves with. Its the pest control office that deals with these issues as opposed to pow itself.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by chaturz on Jan 6, 2014 0:40:38 GMT 1, Must agree you can't trust eBay as people false buy items with multiple accounts when they win their own item they simply contact eBay to cancel the transaction stating the deal fell through for whatever reason then eBay reimburse their 10% fee and they have artificially raised the market price as ebay still has it recorded as a completed transaction upon which they can relist. Sometimes relisting with the same account and sometimes with other accounts.
The same may be said for the forum. I know there are some good eggs but like others I am noticed this growing trend of multiple accounts and many new members which may well be other older members or genuine new ones with multiple accounts meaning the forum itself is easily at risk of this kind of abuse. You only have to look at some of the banksy sales with the prices being talked up to a ridiculous extent.
Just an opinion

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Poster Bob on Jan 6, 2014 1:49:42 GMT 1, Pretty sure an old-school member listed a Khaki and Grey edt of 100 recently at 14k and 10k.Sold in a instant too. Or yet again more muggy members trying to manipulate people and prices.Safe bet anyone quoting those silly prices owns multiples or is closely linked to someone who does.. I am pretty sure that you are completely and utterly wrong. Or, it could just be, that the person who purchased it at £10k now has to sell it because an identical frame job by Pauli is now on ebay at only £8k. HAH.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by mccann on Jan 7, 2014 8:18:43 GMT 1, Sadly for sale but only to fund another purchase so not really that sad, I'm not the original owner so have bought this secondary, looking to get back same value as what I paid so taking offers over £14K I'm afraid but thought it was best to give a guide as not to waste peoples time. Framed by Pauli to conservation standards...COA in hand. Please PM me with offers and interest, will provide photos etc to serious buyers.
Thanks

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by kichline on Jan 8, 2014 19:01:04 GMT 1, I actually bought that CYW at Phillips for 10k, and I think I actually got a good deal (all things considered). Yes I agree it seems high but if you can find me anyone willing to let a CYW go for less I'd be happy to grab it. I've been looking at many versions for months now, and it seems that they are going for a bare minimum of £12k these days, often up to £15-18k.
Even on the forum, when someone puts one out there for potentially a lower price, they will get offers for at least £12 and sell to the highest offer. There was a Yellow CYW posted weeks ago on the forum, and the seller suggested a price around £7500 I think... he received 30+ PM's in the first hour, and later acknowledged his pricing was way off from reality - not sure what he sold for, but I expect it was at least £12-13k from the sound of it and the demand he had.
Everyone I look at who has one for sale seems to be expecting £12+ these days...

I saw on a Banksy prints overview there are 583 signed versions of this print. Even if you exclude the 100 Grey and 58 Queue jumping. There are 425 Colored versions. Maybe people just really love that image.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Shoeless on Jan 8, 2014 22:08:08 GMT 1, Lets be honest, it boils down to hype. Granted, most Banksy prints don't necessarily need any hype, but when the one sold at auction last year for what….£17k, most here were calling that a fluke. Before that sale, I seem to recall seeing many here stating it was one of their least favorite images. When an item is perceived more valuable, it becomes more desirable.
Just my humble opinion.
