Final attempt to get a CYW!!!, by craigf on Feb 2, 2011 0:55:16 GMT 1, I'm not going to try and talk prices down just because I'm after one, but prices close to classics such as signed Laugh Now's are IMHO are taking the preverbal!

Final attempt to get a CYW!!!, by love on Feb 2, 2011 1:21:06 GMT 1, The 7k sale is pathetic, but there is a slate for 3,4k with 18 bids and 2 days to go.

Final attempt to get a CYW!!!, by naughtyshorty on Feb 2, 2011 4:07:49 GMT 1, the whole CYW market is a bit random. possibly still some shill bids going on, but undeniably, all the people on the forum who are trying to get one seem to be coming up with some resistance. be it no offering enough cash, or not enough people coming back with offers. make of that what you will... My personal view is the prices may come down a little as people move away from prices without foundation, but after that, they are steadily going to increase. As for why the new work seems to go for the same / more than the older work, i cant explain that one! (other than possibly its better and more aesthetically pleasing perhaps?)

That's because there are actually people buying the price hiking bulls**t Regarding the new prints being better I would say only time will tell. Personally I don't think so.

Final attempt to get a CYW!!!, by redfred on Feb 2, 2011 11:28:11 GMT 1, Think how difficult it will be to get hold of one of these if you are after a particular colour after Oscar mania hits the TV screens, that gets phenomenal world wide viewing figures and most of those will not have heard of Banksy! It wasnt that long ago that a long standing forum member was offering ยฃ2.5k for a Nola and was advised by many that he would easily get one for that but I dont think he did and now look at the price of them! If I was offered a CYW for a decent price I think I would bite the bullet and go for it as I think those been offered for 3- 3.5k will only go up! Just my opinion and no I dont want one and am not selling one!

Final attempt to get a CYW!!!, by colinfishwick on Feb 2, 2011 22:44:38 GMT 1, i totally agree, prices do not only ever go in one direction - if there has recently been a huge upward surge in prices (which there has) then very often there follows a correction. now i don't mean they will go crashing down, not at all but having blind faith that the only way is up is a very naive attitude - a large number of the people who bought on the secondary market in late 07- early 08 are only just now seeing the value of their prints return to somewhere near to what they paid out then.
peaks and troughs, peaks and troughs........

Final attempt to get a CYW!!!, by Warm Gun on Feb 2, 2011 22:59:02 GMT 1, Unfortunately the double dip is certainly on it's way, sadly I think it's a situation that we'll find harder to climb out of than the initial recessions itself. What that'll do to prices...who knows?

Unless people get really desperate I cant see them selling their prized Banksy's, even if they do they wont be selling at silly prices..

I wouldn't regret a thing if it meant I could pay my mortgage for a few months.
But that's all doom and gloom anyway.
I'm off to eat my Eine canvas.
