I'd agree - certainly not in the short to middle term anyway. Though Jamie's 70s and 80s originals are now fetching very tidy sums indeed.

It's also worth noting that much of Jamie's primary fan base, i.e., those heavily into the punk scene when it was at it's height, have turned to more traditional establishment careers and can now afford to spend money on his art.

Plus the punk aesthetic has made a huge resurgence in recent years.

I'd be interested to hear Romanywg's thoughts on the subject. He was obviously very much involved in the scene.

If youre friend wants really cheap Reid, nowhere better than A.M.U.T.I. (owned by his dealers, The Aquarium.) They sell rare, out of date and reject Reids. I have picked up unique Printers Proofs for less than £50. Swastika eyes being one of them.

JJ you pretty much summed it up. I never was an actual fan of his work at the time but it has grown on me recently.

Just thought I would bring these to your attention, 4 extremely limited edition canvas editions of the God Save The Queen flag and Anarchy In The UK!

This is the first official collaboration between Reid and the Pistols for ten years (Since the Artificial print run) It is also the first time the Anarchy flag has been reproduced in a limited run format. Whilst Reid owns the rights to the Safety pin Queen image he isn't able to use the Pistols name without permission, hence the releases over the past few years without the band's name.

I have already picked mine up and I am reliably informed that they are selling out fast with the band members themselves having sets of them!

Prices are around the 2k mark per canvas, which seems pretty good to me considering you would have to pay around £1200 for a Red, White and Blue Artificial Queen and that was an edition of 350.

i've got an original 1977 poster signed/numbered by Jamie Reid (ltd.Edition of 50) Sex Pistols NMTB - I've had it framed but when the posters were stored they were obviously folded and not tightly rolled. As my framer has float mounted it the creases are visible. He tells me that the only way to avoid this is to dry mount it. Your opinons please!
