CYW for sale on hold pending payment. , by colinfishwick on Feb 5, 2011 22:48:48 GMT 1, hey Slammer - thanks for the pics, it's great to see the very subtle differences side by side. for me, the Khaki makes the white of the dog 'pop' a little more but aside from that very little difference in terms of tonal impact.
this isn't much help but i echo Saint's comments (i think) and say that they'd make an awesome pair together, very complementary indeed
good luck with the completion of this sale - are you dropping the QJG straight in to the old frame? a nice black keyline mount behind the white window mount (like the lemon CYW up for sale thread) would really work well or better still (IMHO) would be a black window mount to let those real subtle details come alive.......

CYW for sale on hold pending payment. , by Deleted on Feb 5, 2011 23:26:42 GMT 1, not sure yet m8. going to take my time at the framers. to be honest, it isn't going to be a priority right now. I have a once in a life time commission on its way soon and i need to create space for it, its pretty big. i can't wait to show it off on the forum. Its being entered for the BP portrait awards, so might not even get to hang it, if it gets into the show for a year as it'll be going on tour. which i of course hope it does. Wish i had the money and space for both these Banksys, but I just like the grey that little bit more. Although i see your points.

CYW for sale on hold pending payment. , by colinfishwick on Feb 5, 2011 23:54:19 GMT 1, the commission sounds intriguing Slammer - look forward to seeing the pics!! my wife used to teach with Mary Harris, whose daughter Charlotte won the award in 2003 with a stunning portrait of her Grandmother.
for the record Slammer, i preferred the lottery grey on the day but couldn't get it so went for slate!

CYW for sale on hold pending payment. , by Deleted on Feb 6, 2011 1:18:33 GMT 1, i'm the sort of person that ain't gonna get worried about a comment by a faceless person who won't even use their normal user name. Or a bunch of ageing gangsters threatening me. As far as I remember i was in the first 3 at Berwick street and was invited to the front of the queue at Commercial street by the lovely people there as a good will gesture. When Simon came out and asked who was first in the queue everyone pointed at me. I never said a word.

i applaud you for reclaiming your place, i for one would like to think i had the balls to do the same thing. it amazes me how Jboy and the like can get upset at anyone who queued for so long doing the same sort of thing?

CYW for sale on hold pending payment. , by colinfishwick on Feb 6, 2011 1:28:12 GMT 1, from memory Paul her late grandmother was alive when she created the piece but by the time she won the prize had passed away - i may well be wrong so please don't quote me on this.
Charlotte is still local to where we are in Kent, would love to commission a portrait from her one day of the kids....
