'Lights Dance - Dos Torres / Spain' - So here's the main part of my latest mural commission in a fantastic private villa in Dos Torres, Southern Spain. The idea was to have an energetic, colourful and vibrant, impressionistic London city scene, full of colour and movement and rain! I had a superb time painting this, in a quiet and beautiful village in the heart of rural Spain, such great and friendly people. The mural spans the entire upstairs wall, with a greta range of surfaces, original stone pillars, stone floor, with some super modern elements to be added in making it a very cool, modern / traditional villa! The mural then leads downstairs through a large open stairwell, which i also painted on. This picture represents just half of the entire mural, the rest will be shown soon! Feel free to share

Just returned from an amazing trip across Vietnam, and Cambodia and fired up with huge amount of inspiration for new work on canvas and walls, so here's some of the sketches and my first speed painting!

Sketching 100's of metres underground in the worlds largest cave, Han Son Doong in Vietnam. We trekked through 40 degree dense jungles and many rivers over 65km in 4 days to spend 4 nights within the caves themselves as they are so vast. With a 9km main passage deep in the bowels of the earth. More people have been into space than have been in these caves! Only around 800 have visited them since discovery a few years back. Steep, slippery roped descent 80metres from the entrance and then scrambling for hours down deeper over huge boulder fields only lit by head torches to reach camp within the cathedral like caverns. Fast flowing rivers, huge chasms and pitch black drops, ghostly shadows from torchbearer light and ceilings so high you could fit skyscrapers in. The most epic and life changing experience ever. I was sketching at every opportunity, a true step back in time 400 million years to this cut off world. Amazing. Here i am sketching a 70m high stalactite at camp 2.

Mmmm that's the sort of thing that puts me off going to any Art Events or Gallery Shows so many just seem to be a booze up! People with a beer in their hand standing in front and with their back to the Art they were supposed to be there to see.

Not really art or galleries. It's design stuff, furniture and interior design shops mainly, fishing for projects and corporate customers. Don't remember any art. Maybe it's moving more that way though. Do remember getting very drunk! Ha

Really impressive well done

Takes me 6.5 weeks to even think about painting....... Amazing Dan
