I agree about TMA London and Empire State being up there with Nicks best prints. But to say they will always rise in value !!. Predictions are a mugs game.

Nick Walker โข TMA New York, by Wearology on Feb 27, 2011 19:59:49 GMT 1, I was talking about prints that sell out very quickly and than do not sell for much higher than their original costs in the secondary market. I was not talking about sentimental value or any other factors - all I was talking about is that you buy a print for X amount of dollars and resell it for Y amount of dollars thats all. The SI series , and several FAILE pieces definitely fall under that equation.

Nick Walker โข TMA New York, by jamo on Feb 27, 2011 20:07:29 GMT 1, The prints look great - love the A/P with the different coloured water / waves....
Good luck to anyone on the forum entered in the lottery, although I can't imagine there are many of us as the forum always seems to be overrun with NW bashers.
He can't seem to win though, as when he revisits the TMA series he gets accused of floggin' a dead horse, despite them being highly original and extremely well executed as a series and as individual pieces. IMO.
I have all the TMA series and couldn't give a t*ss about residual values. They look great on my walls.
The four or five times I have met and spoken to Nick at his shows, he has been very approachable and a thoroughly nice chap. I must admit, I havn't liked everything he has done (Corancan on paper, for example) but I think this is true of any artist. I like his style, subjects, obvious stencil talent and the main body of his work. Shame some of the forum members can't be a bit more respectful of one of the scene's big influences.....

Nick Walker โข TMA New York, by manty on Feb 27, 2011 21:00:33 GMT 1, It'll go up, and then come down. Nick Walkers work has been dropping like a stone in auction houses, too many big dealers and buyers were stung in the hype of it all, and what has Nicky given them since to reassure them? The same terrible un imaginative image over and over again to further dilute the market. Can someone point out what work is exactly new in that show? Just looks like all rehashed old stuff. That exploding rat has been around for ages. Please don't say there was a moona lisa or mona simpson there as well as it would just top it off the hat trick
That Moona at Bonhams was very nice. And it should have been mine,(estimated at ยฃ3000-ยฃ5000) I was sitting there wondering how the fuck i would get it transported home and how to explain the purchase to the wife, but some fucker with a spoilt brat daughter in front decided their darling should have it and paid ยฃ54,000 for it.
His stuff exploded over night, for some unknown reason has been slagged off by certain people ever since.
He does what he enjoys, and good luck to him, seems like a decent bloke, basic supply and demand rules insofar as his primary sales go

I just want some cool framing suggestions and I don't believe that the one that sold for $3600 is a genuine sale...
there are multiple listings on ebay with a lower buy it now then that one not to mention the guy who is selling them is the one who paid the family of twelve to sit in live!
All around shady business!
However overall I had a great time and it was a pleasure hanging out with the chaps who were in the CYW Q...The first 3 people in line drove all the way up from South Carolina! That is some dedication mang!
if anyone wants to sell a Vandal Airways hit me up via pm....
the highlight for me though was getting the chance to hang out with Nick and his boys then tip back a few pints all night on Thursday! Thanks Foodrap for giving me that chance to chill with the artist and his crew! ;D Nick overall is a very humble man and has some exciting stuff happening later this year....
