Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by dill on May 16, 2006 15:24:48 GMT 1, by the way good system for checking out possible sellers on e bay is go to www.goofbay.co.uk
you can find out if people have two identities to bid against themselves to increase the price (shill bidding) you can get a record of all the negative feedback they have recieved or left....highly reccomended..could save one a lot of money and grief

Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by policeaware on May 16, 2006 17:49:32 GMT 1, Goofbay is good but not fool proof so be careful people. It can make mistakes which could be at the expense of someones reputation. How many of us have been repeat bidders on a second listing from the same seller ? this shows up as possible shill bidding through goofbay
If you suspect shill bidding then report it to ebay and let them decide....

Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by adrscib on Dec 24, 2006 15:21:20 GMT 1, Hi all,
I just bought a Grin Reaper (from a second buyer), i am still to receive it and paid a hefty sum for it but i think that long term its a good investment. I bought it because i was desperate to get hold of some banksy work, everything is now getting out of reach and prices are escalating by the day. And i've read that the quality of this print is very good and one of the first. I will hold it for a number of years.
I also believe to have found the potential future Banksy stablemate... Stanley Donwood, not so popular but his prices are already rising on ebay with My Everyday Life and Pacific Coast proving to be the most popular and selling fast. Well these are now out of stock from POW or Eyestorm. Your comments. I also registered on Stanley Donwood forum but is quite dead!

Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by cosmic on Dec 24, 2006 15:38:44 GMT 1, Grin Reaper is the finest Banksy print that has been printed full stop , no other print comes ANYWHERE ! near it , stunning , stunning , STUNNING ! the detail , the detail , THE DETAIL ! it was a telling turning point in Banksy prints (the moving away from the sprayed style for the first time in the detail and amount of colors put down ) , and will become a classic , very good choice and a print that needs to be seen up close , i will be getting mine framed in the same style as 'HankPank' as this is stunning ! seen here:

Top print dont give a flying F about its investment potential, why not keep it for as long as you like it then give it to someone else, that way it made you happy for a while, and it'll make someone happy again when they get given it, if you bought it as an investment, the whole thing has started to collapse, prices are diving by the day, check e-bay for the last month to see how low things are going, you have wasted your money as an investment but as the owner of a great piece of art you are a lucky lucky person.

Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by adrscib on Dec 24, 2006 16:09:39 GMT 1, Hi foundation....
no i dont agree with you.... prices for grin reaper are going up, banksy is still going up... and from galleries prices are double of ebay. Yday on ebay a christ shopping went for STG 6k, and I think the demand is still high. I never thought of such a high price could be acheived when just a week ago another christ shopping went for STG 4.8k!
Anyway, it is true that the grin reaper price went down but i believe that owners wont sell for less than STG 2k, there might be bargain but those will be limited to the people who need the cash quickly, and its good to have a couple of k aside in case similar opportunties arise.
I see that in five years time banksy prints will be regularly auctioned on major auctioners like sothebys and christies.
Cheers. Ad

Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by foundation on Dec 24, 2006 16:19:38 GMT 1, The CWS 2 weeks before went for 8K, but thats neither here nor there, If you wnt to talk investment the ebay forum does that well ( well enough to make things up if it doesnt know it at anyrate) . This forum was set up for like minded people to apreciate Banksy's work, not try to wonder if its a sound investment, things have changed recently, with alot more money talk, sadly this has ruined much of the pleasure in collecting and apreciating banksy prints when idiots see it as an investment rather than art, I for one hope the whole market goes tits up and we are all left with worthless yet very nice pieces of paper on our walls again rather than investments.

Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by adrscib on Dec 24, 2006 16:31:58 GMT 1, Point taken. Still having a print is nice, but when you realise that it is the envy / wish / hope of thousands of ppl to own it makes you feel more proud... and that is why prices rise!... when you buy and sell stocks you are trading a paper, but for art you can enjoy it too.
But with all due respect it is not at lone buyers like me that you should be angry, but at the art galleries who inflate prices and commercialise everything.
Have a good time this xmas.

Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by yojimbo on Jan 5, 2007 14:26:53 GMT 1, I have to say this is my favourite Banksy print, looks cool and I love the theme. I notice Hirst had a an altered canvas with the same Grin Reaper character in recent Murderme exhibition. Unfortunately I don't own it and I'm not likely to now as I can't see the price coming down due to the small print run. There are a couple on ebay currently at around 2k. Only thing I can hope is some people might find the face staring at them everyday a bit disconcerting. If anyone wants to shift one let me know.
