The £50 Art Thread, by Ågent ßacardi on Apr 11, 2007 18:36:00 GMT 1, looks cool, gues it depends on what your walls look like at the other side tho
It's not actually being 'squashed' between 2 pieces of glass, it's glass on the front and a mat (or a mount as the Brits refer to it as) behind
But it is possible to float a piece the way you thought (between 2 pieces of glass), I think I've seen a couple of examples on here. Looks really cool! Spacers are an absolute must, though!

If my memory serves me right, if you go through the "Get your BANKSYS out for the lads" thread, you'll see a couple. I think it was Senna's Pulp Fiction or HMV that got that treatment... Gotta warn you though, that thread is HUGE Check the earlier pages.

The £50 Art Thread, by piperson on Apr 11, 2007 22:29:33 GMT 1, show me, show me How much was the framing got mine rolled up safe waiting for the right time and space on a wall. As usual you'll have to excuse the photography. I'm sure you get the idea though. It's a nice image. Frame was £104.00. Float mounted.
Just checked, all sold out.........

Turns out Hollywood and Highland don't have the best shipping practices, as my Kinsey print pictured above arrived today in a skinny tube with no kraft paper.
That said, the paper is thick, the colors are really rich, and I am stoked at having bagged such a bargain! I hope that the rest of you who ordered one will be as pleased as I am right now. Once the print has flattened out some, I'll snap a pic and post it as well. The internet image, like is always the case, does not do the print justice.
Side note: Although it appears these are screenprints (thickness of the inks--they seem to have dimension on my initial glances) it is possible they are litho. I doubt it though. Seem more like prints to me. Will update once the print has relaxed enough that I can look at it without the possibility of inadvertently damaging it.

I also got my prints today. And , their shipping practices are pretty horrific. i also had the thin tube, but had four(4)prints stuffed in there, wound so tight, that I couldn't get them out. I ended up, carefully slicing the ends of the tube with a blade, until I was able to peel the tube away, and off the prints. I'm not sure if those of you outside of the united states know what "pillsbury- poppin fresh-biscuits" are....but the shipping tube actually split open, like the biscuits, and the prints popped out, and instantly gained three times their rolled girth. unfortunately, one print is missing a hairline break-off, of one corner. it will be several days, until I will be able to really check them out. like tadghostal, i am really pleased with these. i hope that a lot of you ordered them. IMO, so far it's the bargain of the year.
(just out of curiosity...what was the shipping charge to the UK?)

I just ordered another Sage Vaugn, to replace my damaged one...and there appears to be some of each of the six different " Hollywood and Highland" prints still available.

The £50 Art Thread, by nombei on Apr 14, 2007 6:14:24 GMT 1, got my 3 "posters" from the Hollywood & Highland deal today! the packaging definitely leaves something to be desired...had to do the "poppin' fresh" method to get mine out of the tube too.
that said, the Kinsey "poster" is a very nice print indeed !!! nice thick paper and the ink looks thick too. i also got the Buff Monster and Florencio Zavala ones. the Buff Monster is on pretty nice paper too so i'd call it a print. the Zavala on the other hand, looks and feels like a poster.... not sure why Zavala got the cheapo feel.
i posted up pics of them as well as a nice print i got from the spradio.com kids in the "get your Banksy's out Part II" thread if you want to check them out.

Prints are about £37.50 inc postage to the EU or US, mailed flat between two sturdy pieces of cardboard according to the site. They're pretty small giclees (image size 250mm X 250mm).
VERY Dan Baldwin.

some crazy stuff there! would love to see some of the originals in person to see how they look. i didn't see any mention of the originals being for sale though...
if the prints were larger i'd probably grab one just to check it out in the flesh.

i'm actually gonna swing by there today to pick up a Sam Flores poster for a friend and to check out the current showing at the FIFTY24SF gallery.
most of the posters are unlimited editions, on good paper and well made. not sure why they don't ship international....
i'm getting frames for these two

Also, in case anyone else wants to keep up on relatively inexpensive prints and toys, I run a blog, I think you'll like it: www.omgposters.comThanks again to the crew over here.
