+1 to you manty, the Choe's are looking great.
I snagged the last couple of Pull My Scarf/Hoppers from the states and they've just told me on Friday that they've found me a Sofa King as well. ;D Happy days. The full set at standard retail
PS - Brendan, is that a mansion you're living in there mate? ;D ;D

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by a4mnt on Sept 15, 2007 19:36:57 GMT 1, As for the Minotaur Weapon frame, i'm so pleased. I was grinning so much when i saw it. I nicked the catalogues off my framer for a week and am so pleased with the finished product.
The outside of the frame has a rough finish, like wood. But the inner part is totally smooth and 'feels' like metal almost, but what i didn't see in the sample catalogue was the 'bamboo' effect on the inner frame and wooden slip...so Manty, Plurker and Pezlow, if you are checking out LL frames stuff, have a look at this frame as its really good!

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by a4mnt on Sept 15, 2007 20:23:44 GMT 1, Thanks everyone. And thanks for the respect, i'm blushing in Brixton
This is the new view through the hall now that I've moved JD out of the living room (temporarily? who knows).
I'm sure you all have the same anxiety as me. Your mates come round, they like the stuff, but it washes over them generally.....its like, you've just ignored a Micallef Judgement Day, and thats a Guy Denning original, and so's that one in the distance.....and they are just totally unphased!!
But of all the pieces, both my flatmates are sucked in by the Logan Hicks (so am I). Which is pretty amazing. there's something about it.....its just so......real........

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by ABC on Sept 16, 2007 19:22:38 GMT 1, Hoppers - David Choe. Now jumped to the top of my 'waiting to be framed' list. I knew this print would be good but I honestly didn't expect it to be this good! Ive just got my self three more Choe prints and this is my favourite. Im not jumping on the Choe band waggon its just I passed on these when released but after getting 150 City Girl I had to have the others as the quality is very good, framing to follow.

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by a4mnt on Sept 17, 2007 10:38:42 GMT 1, Joe - I'm sure it will look fantastic in the flesh. Is that from 2006?
If its anything like my GD canvas, he really piles on the paint, which makes it more interesting from obscure angles. I'm sure there will be loads of work gone into it that you won't appreciate until you get it home and into different lights.
Are you going to frame it?
My GD canvas is next on the framing list, its only 40x50cm and won't have glass, so the cost will be minimal. Its not neccessary, but i just like to add a little extra dimension to the canvas.
Let me know how you get on with that other framing info.

I happen to really like this piece cocteau101, thought about buying it myself... You really have to see a Denning original in the flesh to truly appreciate it, pictures never do his work justice, if you have a chance to make it to his next show you will understand what I mean... I have to say, the Denning I own totally blows every other piece of art I own away...

Cheers mate
It's from 2005. Haven't decided about framing yet. Been on the lookout for a Denning portrait and I think this was a fair price so thought I might not get another opportunity. I like it it appears to my melancholic side.
Hopefully my Parla will arrive tomorrow aswell.
