Wish You Were Here by Benjamin Thomas Taylor, #1 of 25. This is pretty massive, at 110x80cm, so it's nice that it actually was sold framed up and ready for the wall! Yes, it's a giclee print, but I still love the image enough that I had to get it. I also already have a smaller one of his Wish You Were Here II.

They were then dipped in resin/fiberglass so that the piece is solid to the touch (and a dust magnet).ย I added a picture to show the scale as thing is pretty damn big 2m x 1m. Lucky to have a spot in the stairwell for it. This was part of his first major release back in 2008 when his work was affordable to us mortal humans.
Nice. I need to add a Vhils to my collection. He really is one of the good ones. Whatโs this piece on? Is that paper? This series was created using hacked off public billboard posters with many multiple layers.

I just love Vhils work.... perhaps because I have a soft spot for Jacques Villeglรฉ though could never afford his work. To me, Vhils was a welcome extension and adaptation of Villeglรฉ. That sickness piece is... sick. What year is it 2007 and the size? Good to hear it has held up well. Truth be told, flakes and paper in the frame - its further destruction - simply adds to the aesthetic. Absolutely love it!
I think my 'SICKNESS' piece is a little older than yours - before he started coating them in resin so they didn't require framing or fall apart in transit - but it's held up really well in its frame over the past 14/15 years, there's only a small amount of flaking lying within the bottom of the frame.
What I particularly liked about my piece is that he didn't use any paint at all, or add any layers of his own paper, he simply kept cutting through the billboard clump layer by layer until he reached the desired colour for each letter.

100%, I was obsessed with his work too for a long time though had a pref for Villeglรฉ because of his link to the 68 protests but your post is a good reminder for me to look at his work again.
