Saw these 7 layer screen printed decks coming up at BSMT as part of their Under Wraps releases and kinda knew I was going to pull the trigger on one. Iโm really glad I did though.

They gave me an amazing Rhys Brown / Euan Roberts original called Beer Bears. The first collaboration that these guys have done. They also gave me the most amazing birthday cake.   
Only just seen this today - the bears and the cake are both epic! Very jealous of you getting that collab!

I have dealt with him a lot over the years and he has done several works for me. He was also an amazing support for my art auction last year.

The second version as part of the SMS boxset series, issue number 5, recently emulated by the M.M.S release. Ono first presented this work as Mending Piece I at her 1966 solo exhibition at Indica Gallery, London, a renowned centre for countercultural art. Titled Yoko at Indica: Unfinished Paintings and Objects, almost every work in the exhibition was designed to be completed through the actions of visitors. It was here, during the set up, that she was introduced to John Lennon, leading to this edition two years later.
I'm not sure how many of the full sets still exist, there were six produced between February - October 1968 and I'm lucky to be the custodian of a complete set.

Thanks. Yeh, only discovered her recently. She had a show curated by Thinkspace very recently, where I think the originals sold out pretty much immediately, which suggests the next one might be more pricey I guess! The second print was released via Thinkspace as part of the exhibition and then a few weeks later she released 4 others. The one I got above was in both 50 x 50 cm and 70 x 70. 50x50 sold out and 70x70 only a few left. There are also 3 others, although also they only have a handful left from editions of 50.
And yes Penny was from Tate ward. As you say, great value, presumably due to the amount of works and suddenness of it. Or maybe his market isn't quite as strong as we sometimes think? Anyway, delighted to get that one as I'm also a fan of Roamcouch!

It is now at the framer.
It was lovely to deal with Kunstrasen.
I also have "The Marcher" from Cleon Peterson in Black & Gold at the framer.
Will post pictures of the three artworks framed by the end of this week / early next week.
I have made myself a present for Christmas in buying a 1/1 AP HPM from Kunstrasen, "Most is what you make of it?" on a brass plate. It is now at the framer. It was lovely to deal with Kunstrasen. I also have "The Marcher" from Cleon Peterson in Black & Gold at the framer. Will post pictures of the three artworks framed by the end of this week / early next week. |
