In 2012 Icy & Sot released their Blindness print (a photo of it can be seen here: www.brooklynstreetart.com/2012/08/22/wednesday-ready-icy-and-sot-studio-visit/).
Although I really like the print and a lot of Icy & Sot's work, I never got around to buy it.
In 2016 I moved to Canada and got to know my very friendly and interesting neighbor Francis Willey. Francis is a vert talented multi artist, but especially a very good photographer.
On his wall Francis had a photographic version of the blindness print. I asked where he had gotten it from as I said I only knew the Icy & Sot version. Francis stiffened quite a bit, but then said he had actually taken the photo. I must say I was quite taken aback :-)

The Blindness photo is has been very widely used and appropriated (more than 800000 times). Often it has been used for commercial purposes and almost without fail Francis has never been credited as the photographer and much less ever seen any compensation for the image being used. I bought a copy of the limited edition from Francis and it is a very cherished (and soon to be framed) part of my collection.

It's a lovely painting. Nicely executed in a minimalist style. Playful, whimsical, even hopeful.

Received my Huang Yuxing artwork from DDT Store today. I went to see his show in Brussels last year. Been following him since and was glad to see some affordable work from him come for sale. I wanted to go for his more abstract work but girlfriend persuaded me to go for this (according to her) more wall friendly one. It's filled with coloured sand and glitters and if you hold the artwork upside down or on the side you can redecorate the lower part of the artwork. The kids love it (it's like a very expensive snow globe) so it's a very family friendly artwork
