Not exactly street art but I picked up this original 1950 Matisse exhibition poster from eBay for an absolute steal. Been through the mill a bit but I think it'll have character once framed.

Sadly all I have are books; lots of them, mind you.
His portraits of reclining figures, with beautiful carpets, drapes and wallpaper are just sublime. Gorgeous colours.

If only I kept all the sources I used. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ My art teacher Miss Petite had primary sources for us to emulate, we also had several visits to the Tate. I wish I had known how lucky I was back then! Although I could not stand Frank Stella and had many arguments about how bad his work was- I had to complete a final emulation based on his work. I destroyed it after my exams as I believed it to be utter carp... ๐๐

I am sure that itโs a little clichรฉd, but I am very fond of Klimtโs work too. Years ago I travelled to Vienna with the main purpose of seeing as much Secession work in person as I could. Photographs rarely do justice to the texture, colours and beauty of the paintings.
By the by, thereโs an interesting series of documentaries on Sky Arts called โThe mystery of the lost..โ, with episode six being the mystery of the lost Klimt. Itโs about an attempt to recreate a huge lost painting that was destroyed in 1945 by the German army. It may well be too basic for you, in view of your studies. But I learned a lot about Klimtโs methods. Might be of some interest.

I remember the size of Klimt's work- after being used to the posters and photos, I imagined them to be around that size for some reason. Do you have a favourite? Danae is me through and through. ๐ค
Danae was my favourite for yours. Iโve often thought that Iโd love to see it hung next to Frederic Lord Leightonโs Flaming June. Both beautiful.
Iโm also very fond of Judith (so much gold!).
For impact it was seeing the Beethoven Frieze in the Secession Building. Truly breathtaking.
Tbh though, Iโm a bigger fan of Schiele. The exhibition of Schiele and his Contemporaries at the RA in 1990 remains one of my favourite exhibitions.

Had the opportunity to buy one of his earlier paintings, Head Red, a while back, and did. Just got a custom, hand made, gold leafed frame done by The Batican, and mounted it yesterday. This will make for a perfect nursery room piece if I ever have kids.

Also, it wasnโt until this was up on the wall that I fully appreciated the varnish on the print (but you canโt tell from the photos).  
Dude Acme! Love those! But that woods peaking around the corner!  Letโs see how ya framed it up. Was thinking white on white mat/frame for my Hold On III.

Firstly, I want to thank my good friend in Norway for helping me secure this piece as I could never have got it without their help. It was one of my grail pieces, but as itโs an edition of 4, I never thought I would be able to get one and was resigned to just owning the print (which I am still keeping).
For those who own any of the Hama Woods canvases (especially the smaller pieces) they will understand the quality of stencil work and the layers that goes into these so Iโve included close-up photos as well as a video of it being produced.
