Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Aza on Mar 16, 2007 15:54:28 GMT 1, rk - yeah its in the box, not float mounted. the insides of the box slightly cover the edges of the print. Paved with gold was £160, Tea drinker was £220, this is with conservation glass. Still waiting for the Calm fear to come back, but it is framed in just the same way.
and thanks johnas

(pardon the fingerprints )
I love the image/concept to death, but I wasn't too thrilled about the pink background... so I decided to play it up, and picked a purplish mount in an attempt to bold it up a little, at the same time maintaining the childish innocence/girlish allusion.
My framer suggested that I do a single mount, but since this is probably the most classic and iconic Banksy I own (next to Have a Nice Day), I decided to use more than 1 mount to spruce it up a little. The color choice was quite risky, but I must say I'm pretty chuffed with the result ;D

It was triple Cost a bomb (no pun intended), but I'm quite happy with it But then again, I'm red/green colorblind, so perhaps it may just be me

You're good with your puns tonight AB, you've already said you "love the image/concept to death" kind of mirrors bomb hugger.

Haha, I never actually intended "love the image/concept to death" as a pun!
But I'll never be able to surpass you, O Pun Master, originator of "Where you Wheelie Bin?" ;D ;D ;D

Cheers daz205! ;D Yep, the frame job can definitely enhance any given print alright! The Bomb Hugger and my "Because I'm Worthless" Rat are definitely my favorite frame jobs to date
And I understand what you say about looking better than you imagine - with the measly mat samples that they have available at the shop, you can't see how the entire completed framejob would look and have to rely on your imagination... which is nowhere as potent as actually seeing it. I was quite apprehensive when I did my Bomb Hugger, 'cos it was a risky and bold color choice... but I found myself pleasantly surprised, and hence didn't feel the pinch as much when the time to pay for it came! (I'm feeling it now 24 hours later though )

I realy must experience that buzz sometime soon. Got a few self-framed efforts hung (or lying against the wall) but far too much in storage.
