Your latest Art Purchase?, by jackstranger on Jul 18, 2010 10:41:50 GMT 1, That was not the point, as a Beejoir can is not a ยฃ50 print.
I think the love you have for a print is not proportional to the price you paid. You may love a ยฃ50 print and want to preserve it. And in the future who knows how much it will worth...

ok sorry...ยฃ75
I fully understand your point, but if this is in that frame for 2/3 years I cant see much damage being done. This may be worth a wedge in the future, but imo you cant just think of that otherwise no prints would see the light of day... unless in expensive frames.
Enjoy the art and forget what it 'could' be worth in the future imo.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by walshy on Jul 18, 2010 10:56:21 GMT 1, Please don't insult works by Banksy like that. Stop and Search is a far superior image/work in every way possible. Totally agree ;D That's why I have a S&S on my wall (plus tons of other Banksy pieces) and none by MBW. I mean the structure of the print, not quality, context or message. Here you go:
the composition is deff the same as S&S

75 plus filiper taxes? ;D (kidding)
Glad you understand me and I understand your point also, of course
That's what I want, to be able to enjoy my pieces for a long time and I am not worried about its future value. I only have a very modest collection of pieces that I enjoy, compared to the nice collections I see in here. But I try to preserve the things I like, for example, my vinyl records are all in special inner anti-static protective inners and the covers in PVC plastic bags. A couple of my first prints are not to the framing standards they deserve because of my lack of experience, but I hope I can change that in a near future

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Martin Whatson on Jul 18, 2010 13:25:43 GMT 1, @ jack & walshy. I understand both sides of the discussion and I would prefer to put the print in a professional frame! But budget does not allow it, and on top of that I got 9 different colourways of the oilcans as a gift from Beejoir so have a couple backups! hah. Will eventually professionally frame 4, 6 or 8 of them when I get more cash and a bigger place to hang them! Promise you jack

You mentioned the two main concerns: budget and space (at least they are my concerns)
I will really love to see cans framed, Ikea or expensive one I just mentioned the Ikea thing because of preservation I don't have nothing against it
I was not really fan of the Beejoir cans, but I started to have feelings for them and yours are impressive.
It is funny how I don't feel for a lot of pieces and later it changes. Of course it goes both sides.

Fragile, Good Stuff. Very nice close-up. If you have it framed, let's see a wide shot.

I loved it as soon as I saw it, have had it on reserve since the BC Show and finally paid and picked it up yesterday. Ive now got to work out how to get it on the wall!
Yeah, I hit the screen printing workshop yesterday. Was quality, really enjoyed it, obviously found a new career!
Now just waiting on that piece that you already know about. Its currently a work in progress from what ive heard!
