"Covent Garden welcomes an exhibition of work from the last 10 years by infamous graffiti artist Banksy.
The show will include several โarchitecturalโ pieces and plenty of his signature characters, the rats in their many guises; as the Paparazzi, welders, rappers, lock-breakers and, of course, graffiti artists.
Admission to the exhibition is free, the Banksy catalogue will be available to purchase.
The Flower Cellars 4 โ 6 Russell Street WC2E 7BN
Wednesday 15th โ Saturday 25th July 10.00am โ 8.00pm"
Shame to see so many ripped street pieces in the show.

This grates:
A show of a small number of street art pieces that used to be outside, have now been put indoors, and you're expected to pay for a souvenir to mark this special moment?
Bollocks

Banksy - London Show - Please Love Me, by bojangles on Jul 16, 2009 18:51:22 GMT 1, went today:
high point is i got to see some street pieces that i have never seen 'in the flesh' before.
low point and overriding factor is that they are no longer on the wall. total shame they are like caged animals - taken from the natural habitat and forced to perform.
i enquired about selling and "some bits are for sale" bankrobber and vermin have to be linked. it may well be hospital putting on the front but vermin are behind supplying the works.

Banksy - London Show - Please Love Me, by low3 on Jul 16, 2009 23:10:18 GMT 1, What a bunch of cocksuckers!
Admittedly, it's nice seeing a few fondly remembered street pieces, but ripped out of their natural environment and stuck in a gallery they just look wrong. A big part of B's street pieces is that the environment around them is part of what makes them, so out of that environment, they lose a bit of impact. my two cents worth, anyway.

Banksy - London Show - Please Love Me, by Happy Shopper on Jul 17, 2009 11:56:50 GMT 1, Popped along to this yesterday. Pretty poor. Lots of Rats, and taken out of context they're a bit dull! I can totally see now why banksy won't authenticate this work... A show like this looks a bit crap!
Also they had really bad quailty T-shirts, stickers and postcards for sale. Shame on you Hospital!

I'm embarrassed for them.
Best thing they can do is throw it all in a skip and rethink their lives.
When its off the street, its worthless imo.

Banksy - London Show - Please Love Me, by Deleted on Jul 17, 2009 19:48:32 GMT 1, Popped along after work this evening. Was struck by two things:
1. How blummin big the Applause print is... 2. How badly framed the LA set of printer's proofs were!
... oh, and although it was nice to see the street pieces, most of which I hadn't seen in person before, unless you are in London, not worth making a journey for.
