Faile ebay prices, by pezlow on Feb 26, 2007 11:39:04 GMT 1, Anyone noticing a significant increase in prices of Faile work on the bay. A Red Shimmering Butterfly girl was, last I checked, at nearly 400 squid and a signed Captivating, which was available on POW until about a week ago, is going for over 200.
Personally I think that the work is worth it and it puzzles me that Faile have been underated for so long. Nevertheless it looks like the chances of picking up Faile pieces in the future is going to be much harder 
Is this the Lazinc effect?

Yes, the baggers will be out in force. Again they came late to the game, some baggers got in early but sold at what I imagine they thought were disappointingly low prices a few months back, and a LOT didn't sell on ebay at all. Some with 0 bids.
Luckily, those that do really appreciate street art and Faile, have probably already amassed a nice little collection of originals and prints so don't have to worry asbout the LAZ effect, which will no doubt bring the cockroaches out of the woodwork ;D

I couldn't have said it any better. On the other hand, I do want just a plain butterfly girl / captivating that I can frame cheaply so I may pick up an unsigned.

(btw. Kent and Wythe). where the Brooklyn Banksy piece was and where the Faile collective have their studio office space. so many amazing streetartists representing down that street, so I visit often as it continually changes. I think it's due to the fact that Faile are there. they are well respected in the streetart scene and not as well known to the public as Banksy is -- I (greedily) hope it will stay that way......
