Just letting the forum know, yet again the sale of my Warhol has fallen tnrough! Timewaster at ACfineart wanted me to ship work over before payment even though he bought the work through the buy it now option! This is the second time he has done this usi g a different email and ebay account!
The work is available to UK collectors only no more USA timewasters sorry no offence to americans. I will accept Banksy as part trade but only laugh now US, GWB unsigned, VLH, laugh now signed, napalm

I will also offer £100 towards flights to come and view this work (subject to sale) to put all you doubters to the test, i will refund £100 of the cost of the work towards your flights if the work is purchased, (to avoid further timewasters) so you can buy with confidence, surely i cannot do anymore here?? but give it away!!

Been wanting to pickup a signed Warhol for some time. I know it's tricky business with fakes all over etc. What would I be looking at for a good condition signed Warhol not Sunday morning but an original edition and is anyone looking to sell? I wish I was more up to speed with the Warhol scene and I know the question has been asked b4 any help would be sweet.

A series 1 beef soupcan just sold yesterday at Christies for 21K USD.

it went way over estimate. i was bidding on some Twomblys and a Bacon piece, but no luck.

Opus Art have a signed Marilyn Monroe, they sent out an email yesterday offering it for sale. POA.

Warhol did plenty of prints. If you want one of the iconic print like a Tomato Soup Can, Marilyn, MAO, James Dean... you'll probably have to spend some money on that.

However if you just want a signed warhol print. There are plenty of them and you can find some cheap ones for less than 4K. Community 2000, a Kiku, one of the love series, an electric chair, ladies & gentlemen, the UN stamp.......

Went to see this today and its well worth a visit if you are in the area. Interesting to see in person how much Warhol influences many of the artists discussed on the forums.

Southampton is staging a major exhibition of nearly two hundred works by Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987), one of the giants of 20th century art. Paintings, prints, posters, photographs and film are displayed across two of the city’s most prestigious art galleries, Southampton City Art Gallery and the John Hansard Gallery. The works on display are taken from ARTIST ROOMS, a new collection of modern and contemporary art held by Tate and National Galleries of Scotland for the nation.

The exhibition in Southampton explores Warhol’s fascination with fame and celebrity, giving visitors an overview of his work from 1951 until his death in 1987. Southampton City Art Gallery shows contemporary culture and icons by exhibiting 19 major paintings and a group of 126 prints and posters, alongside an Andy Warhol ‘factory’ style space for young people and families. The University of Southampton’s John Hansard Gallery focuses on Warhol’s hugely influential film and photography, showcasing rarely-seen stitched photographs, self-portraits and celebrity portraits, alongside iconic film works from the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.

ARTIST ROOMS is owned jointly by Tate and National Galleries of Scotland and was established through The d’Offay Donation in 2008, with the assistance of the National Heritage Memorial Fund, the Art Fund and the Scottish and British Governments. ARTIST ROOMS is being shared with galleries and museums throughout the UK thanks to the support of independent charity, the Art Fund and The Scottish Government. ARTIST ROOMS On Tour with the Art Fund has been devised to enable this collection to reach and inspire new audiences across the country, particularly young people.

Can you tell us moe about the exhibition and do you have any pics to post up?

As CG said unfortunately no photographs allowed.

I only managed to get to the Southampton Art Gallery part of the exhibition. There are 20 original canvases on show including self portraits and several of fellow artists including Robert Mapplethorpe, Man Ray, Gilbert and George and Joseph Beuys. Many works I was unfamiliar with and particulary liked Gun, Hamburger and Dollar Sign.

There was also a room with a large number of works on paper including posters from shows, exhibitions and films.

Just my opinion but I thought it was well worth a visit.
