Andy Warhol TOMATO Soup Can drawing, signed 2X. 2,300 GBP 1850 GBP
Price Drop: 1425 GBP. Took a look at my records and this is about what I paid for this fine example of a Warhol Soup Can sketch. Will take offers at or over this price. About the best deal you can get to own an original Warhol drawing. Signed twice.
Drawn in black marker on title page of his "Philosophy from A to B" book. You can look around on Google if you want to search and compare--Warhol made a fair few of these soup can sketches in these books.
This one I feel is a top-notch example. Full signature as well as the AW initial common to this book. The can is well-executed, it has the soup flavor--many just say "Soup"--and it's TOMATO, his classic.
Original plan was to razor this out and frame it as a drawing.
I got this a few years back from an established antique bookseller in the LA area. The signature was authenticated online by PSA/DNA as Likely Genuine, their highest available online rating.
I am submitting this to auction houses now, but if someone likes it be open to selling it without all the hassle and waiting.
Thanks for looking. Feel free to PM me with questions, offers, good cheer, controlled rage.

Agreed! Thanks for the support here.
Took a while to track down this particular drawing. Not so happy to see it go...but, the world, she spins on.

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by rperry on Feb 14, 2012 16:17:20 GMT 1, Aside from the Ted Kennedy I have hanging, I have this 1984 offset done for the cognac company La Grande Passion. I obtained this and a couple of De Kooning offsets from a dealer friend of mine got them directly from the offset printer in Connecticut that did all of Warhol and De Kooning's offset work.
However any offer would have to be in keeping with current auction results as my wife rather likes this print.

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by johnnyh on Feb 14, 2012 17:34:25 GMT 1, Dear all many thx for the lovely comments much appreciated its a special piece that me and the wife bought. We are waiting to frame and hang. Yes it is a chunky piece. Around 1m x1m or 36 x36 inches bit weird as square which most things are not.
Tobaum your so right so now my avatar has got to go!!!! Sketchy no great tail we bought it at auction as a fav of both of ours. My wife is not really into art but loves Warhol like myself. So we bought it as moving to Beijing for our house then work moved me to Hong Kong so we have just kept it and not put up. So we re stuck in the middle at the mo.
R perry love that cognac? It's a lovely piece hang onto it.
Thx all cheers
Johnny

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by lee3 on Feb 14, 2012 17:48:33 GMT 1, Mohawk, it's been my experience over the years that your best hope for the Ali's (which are one of the pricier Warhol editions) are at auction. OGs and prints always seem to be at a (significant) permium at the dealers since primary was exhausted long ago.
I did see a choice Mick Jagger print signed by both him and Warhol on the market a week ago for ~$30k which was one of the few reasonably priced pieces I've seen in some time through a dealer for what I assume is/was a motivated consignor. Apart from that if you are looking to add something from him to your collection, I would urge you to contact Susan Sheehan gallery in ny (no relation to me) just to see what she has available. She's unique in that she focuses on collecting and reselling his drawings and watercolors from the 50s/early 60s which can sell from anyhere to $5-$500k. Most tend to be in the $10-40k range and while expensive on one hand, they are positively cheap compared to the rest of his oeuvre. My personal preference in collecting is to have something done by the artist's hand if at all possible as for me it is a better window to their soul (not a slight to those of you with gorgeous prints). You might be surprised at the availability in the shoe or portrait department from the 50s (i haven't perused her site in some time) as some of them are quite striking and even iconic. Another bonus for those that care from that period is that there was no factory of workers pumping out the art; it was all completed by his hand.

Thanks so much... I have talked to few dealers in new York and can get the set separately and I just may do that, but was looking for one altogether. As for that mao, stunning!!
I did get a few offers on other pieces but I am looking for a few particular pieces. I will reply to all Pm shortly as I am on vacation but thanks everyone!
