Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by LJCal on Mar 5, 2021 0:31:53 GMT 1, If anybody has a lead to one of these with a black stamp, please let me know. Avoid, there are less legit original black stamps than authentic Warhol editions and they are very hard to authenticate. Warhol only had a lose involvement in the first run of SBM Marilyns and even these are unauthorised reproductions, there have since been at least 4 other printers claiming to be SBM putting out black stamps of the Soup Cans, Marilyn, Flowers Mao etc, all are nothing more than decorative prints with no real value. Warhol signed probably a few dozen of the original black stamp Marilyns (stating this is not by me), I reckon one of these with bullet proof provenance would cost ยฃ30-40,000. The current SBM are good reproductions that you can buy direct for a few hundred pounds and donโt pretend to be anything other than a nice replica hence they use blue stamps to avoid any confusion. There are plenty of other ways to own official Warhol editions or nice ephemera on a budget but SBM is not the way IMO.

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by LJCal on Mar 5, 2021 0:38:02 GMT 1, These always make good, fun pieces to put up on the walls. Quality is good too. Quality will be good as they use the original screens. Thatโs not true, the original SBM prints were smaller than the authentic prints and new plates were made, I believe they were supplied with the colour codes from Warhol and Warholโs studio helped to create the new plates to print the Marilyns until the relationship soured. The modern SBM have nothing to do with these plates and whilst good replicas are someway off in terms of colours if you do a like for like comparison.

Yeah, probably 5 out of the 10 work. Some of the others are quite hard to make out or just donโt really pop. This is the best colourway followed by the yellow and pink IMO. revolverwarholgallery.com/portfolio/electric-chairs-81/

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by mrcounterfeit on May 24, 2021 16:48:33 GMT 1, Hi
I did some research on the Sunday B. Morning prints. Is there a connection with Andy Warhol or is it just a marketing concept?
The start of reproducing Warhol prints from the 1970 in Germany, has to do with the increasing interest in PopArt in Germany and the culture that went against the elitism of art. Between 1970 and 2000 multiple (Sunday B. Morning) prints after Andy Warhol were offered. Maoโs, Soup, Marilyns by different โprintersโ. They used different fonts on their black stamps.
Around 2002 a Belgian guy registered the trademark โPrinted by Sunday B. Morningโ . It was the time when e-commerce was on the rise. And some art galleries turned from bricks to clicks. This made it possible to reach a larger group of people interested in Andy Warhol prints. Around 2007 the ownership of the trademarks โPrinted by Sunday B. Morningโ and โFill in your own signatureโ changed to the United States. The production however is still done in Belgium. But despite the fact that the brand Sunday B. Morning is protected, Sunday B. Morning prints from other parties (printed with black stamps) are occasionally still on the market.

Warhol did enter into negotiations with a European printer to do a run of Marilyns but in the end the relationship soured and he didn't authorise the prints. They ended up going to market with them anyway so all SBM prints are in fact unauthorised replicas, he ironically signed a few of the Marilyns as this is not by me. I'd be highly sceptical that any being sold as signed are authentic as he probably signed no more than a handful.

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by LJCal on May 25, 2021 0:58:55 GMT 1, Alot of nonsense in that article, there is one mention of Sunday B Morning prints in the catalogue raisonee. They mention the unauthorised Marilyns, but give no info on the dimensions or edition size. The catalogue makes no mention of any Flowers or Electric Chair replicas and certainly does not get into the specifics of the editions. People take the mention in the catalogue as meaning these prints (the marilyns) form part of Warhol's oeuvre of prints, this is a misconception, the catalogue refers to them catagorically as unauthorised.

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by fredowe on Nov 10, 2021 11:33:49 GMT 1, Hello, i had a discussion last week with SBM team in order to buy a Marilyn print and they shared that: "We still publish in Belgium. They are printed exactly the same way that they were done originally". So i think there isn't any difference between firt edition produced and today.
