My first ever attempt at a canvas, by themightyreds on Apr 26, 2008 23:06:08 GMT 1, I like the paint texture in the background but not the large tag/CSI bit on the front - side/top/rear is best place for that imo.
Plus the face is a bit distorted and you're right about the nose and mouth not being right - maybe work into it and address the face again. Certainly a good first canvas and starting point though!

If you run a picture through PaintShop with the funny settings (?greyscale) then you can get a feel for how the mouth should look.
Certainly helped me for a large piece I once did.
I'm sure many of the artists around here can point you in the right direction.
Then it is up to you to interprete it into the picture.

But I personally look at the Banksy - Flag on the wall above it and sob into my tshirt at how badly it has been done.
Seriously thinking of sticking to drawings and little stencils on cardboard.

My first ever attempt at a canvas, by ABC on Apr 27, 2008 19:51:36 GMT 1, Work on them until you are happy with every piece you produce. Get used to a spray can, use the best sprays and use clean caps to give it a clean edge.
Also think about the composition of your work, IE the main subject to regards to colour and background.
IMO you don't need the white outline around the portrait.
Good luck.
