Kitchen clock by Banksy?!, by jam on Apr 1, 2008 5:14:39 GMT 1, Are you for real? A legit Banksy 'product'? Get a fukking clue. Said it looks more and more like a legit Banksy product (in other words, it's well done).....I have a fukking clue friend...but thanks for your concern. I know its not a legit banksy product, but it looks good, and some people (myself included) will enjoy having one of these on my wall.......And yes, there is such a thing as legit Banksy product. I know the word 'product' sends shiver down your spine, because you must be an art purist who doesn't believe in the branding of an artist, or dislikes the idea of artists producing products, but you need to give your head a shake and wake up to the reality.....this is art world is more a business world than anything else. Thats why Banksy is copyrighting his name. So why dont you get a fukking clue and shove it up your mom's birth canal have a good night friend
Congrats Morrissey1... that's officially the dumbest post I have read on this forum in quite some time.
"Said it looks more and more like a legit Banksy product (in other words, it's well done)" - its a stolen image printed on a clock and claimed to be designed by Banksy, how is that well done?
"I know its not a legit banksy product, but it looks good, and some people (myself included) will enjoy having one of these on my wall.......And yes, there is such a thing as legit Banksy product. Do you honestly think Banksy is in it for the money/business?
"Thats why Banksy is copyrighting his name." - Or, perhaps its to keep thieves from taking images and profiteering on them by selling clocks and album covers. Could also be to protect his artwork itself. Have a minute or two of thought before you spout off a bunch of s**t fella... it will get you farther in life.
"So why dont you get a fukking clue and shove it up your mom's birth canal" - Out of line on a level even beyond what I thought was possible after reading all the other s**t you wrote above... but it seems to also affirm my impression of you from the 'pearls of wisdom' I've seen you excrete.

Kitchen clock by Banksy?!, by morrissey1 on Apr 1, 2008 5:18:22 GMT 1, I wasnt comparing the clock to the other banksy products....all I was saying was that the blackmarket, unauthorized products are gettting better and better in quality, thats all. I see the difference between a clock and the legit banksy products....but at least the clock is well done and would look ok on a wall.......and to the question of whether it matters to me what the artist wishes to produce for consumption, sure that matters...but since its a mission impossible to land a legit Banksy product, its no wonder that people are looking elsewhere for their banksy fix.......
and as far as being royally dumped...you got me there....I had it coming, stitches and all......nice to see someone who joined this forum this month contribute in such a positive way to what's going on around here....Im sure you'll be a cruicial voice in this forum.....god knows the unbelievable negativity of this forum has to come from someone....so good luck

How is it well done? It looks good. Yes, its a stolen image (god knows Banksy would never steal an image)......and yes it is not authorized by Banksy (god knows Banksy would only reproduce other people's work with authorization).......so who cares. Its a nice clock. And the escalation of the conversation i was having, in which I made the mother birth canal remark came only after the total rudeness of the "get a fukking clue" post......sorry if I dont back down like a wallflower and take it in stride.....
And sorry if my comments affirm your impression about me.....obviously you dont know me.....and I'm not too worried about losing you as a potential friend....

Kitchen clock by Banksy?!, by morrissey1 on Apr 1, 2008 5:53:09 GMT 1, Im not trying to keep arguements going, so I will leave it at this.....but you're not going to buy one because you feel like you'd be ripping off the great Mr. B......even though Mr. B has ripped off other artists, profited from it, and gained fame in part by it.......most of the art that comes up in this scene is created from images that are borrowed, stolen, sampled, reproduced, re-worked......if you like the clock, then buy it. This whole scene was supposed to be about anything goes, about being outlaws, about pushing the envelope, about putting a fresh spin on older ideas and images......do you really think Banksy had the permission from the Warhol estate to produce the Kate series? Buy what you like......

Kitchen clock by Banksy?!, by Ron Goldsurfer on Apr 1, 2008 17:35:38 GMT 1, Ok, all of you that thought the clock had something to do with first of april was spot on!
BUT the clock do actually exist, I helpยดd a friend to make it. He is a Banksy fan and bought one ugly kitchen clock that he wanted/needed my help to customize. At first he suggested Jesus with shopping bags, but I insisted on this image instead.
The box do only exist as a photoshop mock up. The joke is all a result of the latest discussions about Banksy copyrighting his name and the Radar Rat "incident". And I thought it could make a good joke on first of april. And I think it workยดd with some of you.
If anyone feels cheated or angry over this, my appologize. My intent was not to piss of people. I thought it could make a good laugh and maybe generate some good discussions about copyright and using others images/ideas.
I feel a bit sorry for you who actually wanted one, cause this design will never hit the market. Not by me anyway. And you who hated it can relax now.
Ps: this one clock is btw not for sale and will for sure never be

Yes, it looks really good IRL and my friend is very happy with his kitchen clock now. But not as happy as he is with his Morons Sepia
