Wow, relax Tom, I think the pair Zip is offering is right up there, 2 of Banksy's most iconic prints, both well sought after and long sold out, alot of reapers towards the end were bought by speculators, and newer fans rushing to bet a signed banksy peice from POW before they all sold, I dont imagine there would be much difference in buying a chopper and a hugger or buying a reaper, signed mary, signed rat etc... What one person sees asa great deal someone else might see as a bad deal, god bless a free country where we are all free to decide what we do with our stuff.

Signed banksy please...., by BME on Jan 27, 2007 10:51:41 GMT 1, Easy Tom!
This is an ebay thread. People offer things for sale and exchanges. You don't have to buy or swap anything. Persnally speaking I'm not interested in Zippy's offer but he does have a right to make it! It's not completely out of the park in terms of value either. BH and HC would probably both go for ยฃ900 or so. Signed prints start at ยฃ2,000 ish.

As foundation said, I would love a bombhugger or Happy Chopper... two amazing pieces.

Signed banksy please...., by tomhills on Jan 27, 2007 16:47:22 GMT 1, fair comment people, maybe i went overboard (a little) but i does my head in people saying they want to trade an applause for christ with shopping bags (slight exageration i know). it just seemed to me also that he was putting them up for any "signed". why signed? why not just request a specific piece and signed as a bonus. i apologise if my rant upset anyone, i just go to the extreme sometimes when a consice, articulate repost would do. doubt i'll ever change though, love me or hate! peace.

Signed banksy please...., by Zippy on Jan 27, 2007 22:35:58 GMT 1, tom - congratulations. you have become the number 1 dick head on this forum. It's new collectors/carpet baggers/ speculators like yourself that have pushed the market so far in the past 18 months. For those of you unaware, I have been a collector for quite a few years. I have a lot of signed prints and personally do prefer the signed one's. That is my personal opinion.
It amazes me that idiots like you come in and appreciate all of the help and advice older collectors like myself can offer but in your short-sighted ignorance you choose to slate me. I have been an e-bay forum member since its beginning and will now not bother coming back here again. Happy now? If you insult all of those with knowledge and they stop helping you, where does that leave you.... In your ignorant world alone?
Now, getting back on track lets look at your pearls of wisdom that you enlighten everyone with.... 'signed, schmined. who gives a f**k? what you have on your wall makes an impact, only d**kheads look closer to see if there if is a signature.' This is your stupid opinion. Signed prints have always been more in demand whether Banksy or any other artist. In the long term, (if your small mind can get past the Sunday sport tomorrow?) what will buyers prefer? A signed copy limited to 150 with provenance or an un-signed from a run of 600?
'mmm, me thinks someone is lookin for a p***s extension? no weston-super-mare, no grin reaper, no soup cans? what makes you think anyone would offer-up said works for your pitiful collection you moron?' Why call me a moron? I am giving a newer collector the chance to obtain 2 of the rarest and most prolific (look it up) Banksy prints. They are not signed but represent what Banksy was doing before prats like you got involved on the scene. How did you find out about Banksy? small article in your Man's Mag? maybe your city-boy mates told you what they were spending their bonuses on this year so you felt you better have a look too?
'i'm sorry, you have a bomb hugger and a happy chopper? are they POW stamped? so all things considerd, do you think anyone would offer you a grin reaper (they're all signed), for your wee pair?' Funny how you go from an insult to an apology in one line. Yes, I would expect someone to offer a grin reeper as alot were bought by newer collectors who genuinely want to own some of his earlier pieces.
'no offence or owt but i think you have a rather high opinion, for an average couple of works, that make you think you're entitled to be picky about what's next for you.' If you noticed, this is a swap thread. Of course I can be picky, I own more Banksy pieces than you wank yourself to sleep about every night and being the one making an offer, I can therefore choose what to accept. If you feel these are average Banksy pieces - you really are talking out of your wrong end. But reading many of your other postings here, its not the first time.
I hope that covers everything off. and congratulations for making a first class prat out of yourself. Its idiots like you that made some very knowlegeable people leave the e-bay forum. Their halp and advice was invaluable when I first joined in stopping me buying fakes etc.. Keep pissing off people here and who is going to advise you? But I forgot, you are already a Banksy expert. You read up on everything here.
Message to everyone else who knows me, if someone could let me know what name this expert trades under I can make sure he never gets the benefit of my advise (and a few selected others) again.
Silky - I apologise if some of my language is out of order, but i feel I need to stoop to this boys level to get my message across. He is obvioulsy not aware that many members children also log in here and feels his language is acceptable.

Signed banksy please...., by hugs on Jan 27, 2007 23:10:33 GMT 1, well said Zippy,my son for one reads this forum and i was not to impressed with the tone of that particular post. I for one have been gratefull for advise from "older " collectors of Bankys prints. In general both forums have served me well of late and it's a litle sad that comments are blown out of proportion, just chll chaps,we share a common interest and Zippy does know his stuff, take it from me. I'm lucky enough to have dealt with him and have found him to be without doubt an honest guy, such a shame that he feels he will leave the forum because of this post.

Signed banksy please...., by tomhills on Jan 27, 2007 23:17:09 GMT 1, i do apolgise mr paragon of virtue that i might just have an opinion, that i'm entitled to regardless of when my "interest" started, that does not fit in exactly with yours. this forum is somewhat enlightening but more so an old boys network of a select few that feel due to the fact they've been members for a certain period of time that makes them and their opinions more qualified? who the fuck are you to tell me what to think, or who's arse to kiss? as for various members children that read this; firstly have you heard what gets said on the playground these days? secondly, do you feel by shielding someone from something means they will never have to encounter it? it only succeeds to make the impact that much harder when they do wake up in the real world. slope off to silky, join the masons and keep your little clique just the way you want it. if you can't accept someone elses opinion (yes i did go over the top in the first instance, but i also indicated where i was coming from once i calmed down but you chose to ignore that) then that's up to you. play the "we was here first" card, take your ball home with you too for all i care. so the interest in banksy is growing, do you hold the monopoly on him? you don't know me, so how do you know where i was in 2003? (or 04 or 05 etc) my rant was nothing personal, and yes i overstepped the mark with "moron" and for that i apologise, for the second time. more a reaction to what i see as unrealistic demands for unequal swapsies. just my opinion, same as you have one. check my follow-up from earlier, might help. love the way it's out of bounds for me to sound off yet you have carte blanche? i'm now repeating myself but it's nothing personal, i don't know you and i don't see why you should feel unwelcome anywhere. i have my opinions and yes they may be strong at times, and you did the right thing by coming back and picking at me point by point. there's nothing wrong with a little healthy debate, albeit a little excessive. again sorry for any offence but i stand by my points. peace. p.s negative respect means about as much to me as the retail price index means to a tramp. i expect that adds to my derogatory mindset as well yeah?

Signed banksy please...., by foundation on Jan 27, 2007 23:32:57 GMT 1, I have been a member of both forums for a decent ammount of time, both have been going rapidly downhill in the last few months, in some parts due to boredom / lack of banksy chat. Wading through neck deep rubbish to find an interesting thread is nigh on impossible and even harder to sustain, as threads have a habbit of being sidetracked. New members / fans asking questions older fans asked a year ago is a welcome thing in most cases, as it gives a chance to pass on some knowledge or good advice, but this cuts both ways when someone with a bit more experience provides a piece of advice newer fans dont like, its not a cause for free reign abuse. The respect system used here is a god awfull idea, ( sorry silk I know you think it works but it blatantly doesnt) and I believe has increased alot of the tension about here in the last while, with folk getting wound up as their respect score drops, causing them to get more riled, and on the flip side, the more folk you say you like their frames to, the more respect you get. I have been as guilty as others at disrespecting. Its a forum where different ideas are ment to be aired and shared with a generally great comunity, willing to help with good advice, picking up fliers for other members etc.. At times just walking away sounds like a very very good idea..

Signed banksy please...., by tomhills on Jan 27, 2007 23:48:19 GMT 1, foundation, fair point. but my frustrations are not just bourne out of some whack respect system, it has more to do with the snobbish attitude of some members that due to their being on this forum, for whatever period of time, makes what they have to say that much more important - and the likes of me? well my opinion counts for s**t. i'm sorry if my language offends people, i really am, but i'm a builder and this is how we talk in the real world. every f**ker swears so get over it. to labor a point, bungle said he prefers signed prints "that's his opinion" yet when i say "who gives a f**k? what you have on your wall makes an impact, only d**kheads look closer to see if there if is a signature." he says "This is your stupid opinion". see what i'm up against? hipocrisy and double standards. zippy, stand up and be a man, don't run away because you don't like what someone else has to say. i don't just rant to start a row, i genuinely believe some constructive opinion will come out of what i say. as i've said before, love me or hate me - i don't care. if you really believe in yourself, what i've got to say is of no consequence surely? it's not about me and you. peace.

Signed banksy please...., by ABC on Jan 27, 2007 23:58:21 GMT 1, At the end of the day, new member, old member, signed banksys are worth more than unsigned. A fair swap IMO Matt. """who gives a f**k? what you have on your wall makes an impact, only d**kheads look closer to see if there if is a signature."""That makes the most of the art establishment Dickheads then becuase a signature is everything in art, Banksy is building his portfolio daily and in 10 years time, if it carries on (Which there is no reason to say It won't) his signed will be the ones all want. Lets be honest 99% on here would prefer signed prints or originals, Maybe not you though Tom after reading that .

I am suprised that zippy is so offended.....it DOES make a difference, the length of time someone has been on the forums..people get to know them, and to trust those worth trusting, and get to know those worth listening to.... tom;you have taken on a long term and respected member of the various forums...as you will have noticed, shit will rain down on you as a result...don't be a numpty...draw a line under it and move on......

Signed banksy please...., by tomhills on Jan 28, 2007 0:21:35 GMT 1, can i just get one thing straight. i truly believe in all i say, and yes i know i go about it in the wrong way. i' ve always been the same and i doubt i'll ever change. i hope people can in time see this, and dismiss some of the vitriol as me being just a bit OTT. i'm not trying to justify myself and any criticism is furry muff, just letting you know where i'm coming from. peace.

Signed banksy please...., by tomhills on Jan 28, 2007 0:26:56 GMT 1, sorry, matilda why should i? cos you lot put your towels down first? with that mentallity what am i to do. an opinion is an opinion is an opinion. the trouble starts when you develop a heirachy based on "star members and respect". why are we all not anonymous, then comments are taken on face value. i wouldn't be surprised if most of you are ex-public school tossers, so really i'm wasting my breath really. if it were numusic saying what i'm saying you'd lick his arse clean. peace.
