How to Compromise?, by Harveyn on Oct 18, 2007 10:53:39 GMT 1, Wow - I did not realize how fortunate I am. My wife occasionally passes comment but really takes no interest in either the art I hang or the furnishings/decor. Shes quite happy to let me work away.
The amount of time I spend obsessing over and about art causes more of a problem..... ;D ;D ;D

She generally likes all of the stuff I've bought, although I know she eyes my signed Banksy and mentally computes how many pairs of shoes it's worth sold.

Another bedroom is full of your dressing table, make up, clothing etc etc. Our bedroom has built in wardrobes that YOU want, that I hate. You wanted floor to ceiling book cases in the dining room. The kitchen is no good and the living room is dominated by a piece YOU wanted. All I want is a little wall space without having a debate about it EVERY time." her - "Well buy stuff I like..." I may move out - or extend...
You see what I mean...

I've spent 2 years trying to convince her that our house will look better with some Banksy on the walls. But Micallef seems to be pushing it too far! She won't have any of those up in the house anywhere except my office!!
I told her - I'll decorate the lounge, you decorate the bathroom.
Seems to have worked so far! as i sit here staring into my Sepia Morons!

Only 2 so far have ever had a "no chance" rating applied.
Got an OK on the GIWTBB once it arrived and was laid out to see in the flesh which is a right result!!

They have all loved them and that helps when I bring in 1/2 dozen other prints that arent so "pretty".
Anthing she hates....goes in my study....thats the compromise...but then again Im lucky to have a spare room ;D

How to Compromise?, by len0001 on Oct 19, 2007 9:56:24 GMT 1, I have them(all pics)prints and originals,in the bog,up the stairs,in the bedrooms X 4.living room 40ft X45ft.study,hall.in the extention where my mum lives,well every where realy.not the cars,lol.she has her pots in the hall.shes lucky at the moment,they may have to go in the celler if i can get a troolies.ha ha

"Coming Home" by Bronywn Bancroft (Good indigenous Australian name that).
There was a Ken Done up at one stage but I wasn't standing for that. Speaking of which it might be a weak association but thinking of Ken Done just made Dan Bladwin pop into my head. Go figure.

Saves splitting it in the event of a divorce, and more importantly - inheritance tax - nothing wrong with buying your child a £250 banksy canvas in 2002, but handing him the £100k you might get for it now if you sold it would raise alarms!
