Things You Have To Do, by Harveyn on Oct 20, 2007 14:46:20 GMT 1, Okay I know not everybody on this forum will be Rugby fans so I apologies for this thread and to those who do not give a fig about the match tonight.
Just thought I would ask the question what you have to do in terms of your better half to get away with watching the match on a Saturday night? Maybe your one of the lucky ones and he/she is just as enthused as you or maybe you wear the trousers and whatever you say goes (if your a bloke by the way you are in denial... ;D ;D).
Anyway some creative thinking please. My wifes at work so I thought I would go for the lavish meal prepared by my good self after hours slaving in the kitchen. I think she might smell a rat...... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Things You Have To Do, by redfred on Oct 20, 2007 15:02:27 GMT 1, Ime taking mine out for a pre-match pint(just to calm the nerves)and I have agreed to make a post match celebration dinner(I hope)This could of course all change if we lose when I will be reduced to a drunken quivering wreck who on health and safety grounds will not be allowed anywhere near sharp knives. BUT WE ARE GOING TO WIN arent we?

Things You Have To Do, by dmandpenfold on Oct 20, 2007 15:22:13 GMT 1, you bet, my money's on it!! First back to back champs in the history of the world cup. Luckily my good lady is a fan, primarily because, and i quote "rugby players have got big shoulders" and "that Johnny Wilkinson's quite cute" So there is no need for me to be inventive about getting to watch the match ;D hoooooray!

Things You Have To Do, by corblimeylimey on Oct 20, 2007 15:28:58 GMT 1, In our household it's quite the opposite, Mrs CBL loves football and I don't, I'm not sure this'll work the other way round but Mrs CBL often sends me packing to the pub, she'll even offer to drive me and pick me up and perhaps even slip me a tenner.

Things You Have To Do, by Harveyn on Oct 20, 2007 15:33:45 GMT 1, Mike - That option be be the one for me. Unfortunately my wife would rather stick hot needles in her eyes. The mere sound of football or rugby seems to irritate.
CBL - Packing her off to the pub might work, but it would have to be a £5.00....... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Things You Have To Do, by Grafter on Oct 20, 2007 16:18:29 GMT 1, I managed to convince her that this is one of those 'once in a lifetime' moments that you simply have to witness whether you like the game or not.......
Fortunatley, she didn't ask 'how can it be once in a lifetime if you won it 4 years ago'......Result.
COME ON ENGLAND... We few we, happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother: be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And Gentlemen in England now abed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
