Micalef himself is trying to police the market, by increasing the supply and therefore keeping the secondary market in check, however this will only work if we don't bid over the true value of a print.

I had an interest in this, as my signed Banksy was purchased from said gallery.
POW rubbished the gallery in a statement, for authenticating Banksy works, saying that only POW could authenticate Bankys prints....the way they worded this statement cast doubt on the Galleries integrity as a whole.
When people picked up on this, (on the old ebay forum) POW released another statement saying they weren't questioning the authenticity of the galleries artwork that it had sold, and this gallery has indeed sold on Banksy prints direct from POW. But, only POW could authenticate Banksys work.
If they were really putting the boot in, why issue the clarification?
But then, I guess you could argue the first statement did the damage, as no one seems to remember POW issuing the clarification - and the gallerys reputation was tarnished for good.

Rock collectables where also selling a pulp fiction print that they said came from TOM TOM even though I had sold the same numbered print a few weeks earlier ( I had bought this in person from Santas Ghetto 3 years previously).
Tom Tom where an official retailer ( Like myself) so I would say that the vast majority of there prints where fine.........I would just guess that towards the end thinks changed .
