pow damaged prints, by Dellboyy on Jul 10, 2007 21:43:06 GMT 1, I've bought prints from various websites, and the only time i've ever had damage to a print was pow!
You would think it must be cheaper for them to stick a bit of padding in the end of the tube rather than carry on replacing all the damaged prints all the time as they're currently doing!

pow damaged prints, by ambrosiabaptism on Jul 10, 2007 22:01:00 GMT 1, The damaged one's will be destroyed and the replacements numbered the same, the edition will still be limited to the same number. You've mentioned this quite a few times haven't you bonesy? rest assured the ltd edition is that, the spares are only for replacement, POW have a superb record on this. I feel very strongly that the integrity of a limited edition print should come first and foremost. Printing up extras after the fact I do not agree with. Replacing damaged prints with a "clean" print having the same number I dont agree with (I know Im in the minority). Once an edition is numbered that should be it. I know they replace shipping damages but I also know they have unnumbered unmarked older prints laying around the office. Someone in another thread stated POW was nice enough to replace a damaged print 8 months after he purchased it, completely ridiculous. I apologize if Im being negative but with the amount of money many of us invest in these limited print runs Im surprised more people arent bothered by the looseness of POWs printing and numbering practices.
whoa ! ! ! I never knew they did this ! I'm with Bonesy on this one. A limited run should be finite by its very nature. Thats what makes 'us' collectors and why we pay silly prices for art. Its the fragility of their exsistence, that and the fact that the artist has created the work that makes them sooo compelling. If its just about loving the image then we should go to banksy's site download the free images and print them out on the deluxe printer at work.

pow damaged prints, by ambrosiabaptism on Jul 10, 2007 22:36:23 GMT 1, Don't get me wrong. You bust a chop to earn the money to pay for a treat, get as excited as you use too on christmas eve when the postie arrives and then .... BAM ! your print is mashed. GUTTED is not the word ! Thats why its so important to get a caring and considerate service in the first place NOT after the fact.
