Top 3 Emerging Artists (after Banksy), by adrscib on Jun 9, 2007 23:10:56 GMT 1, since the banksy forum has became a channel of debate of many artists i want to ask you what are your favourite artists. Forget about value, lets talk about who you like most... based on what you like aesthetically....(dont think money wise in this post).
In my opinion banksy is no longer emerging... and he is in a class of his own so definitely he's our number one... and no one can ever come close...
after which all artists follow:
And from my end...
1) Dan Baldwin
2) Elliot
3) Micallef
I own dan baldwin and elliot works, planning to add some micallef works... and if prices stabilize adam neate might be interesting....

MICALLEF - doing well
DFace - has got some stunning stuff coming out this year and have been told his stuff will be appearing very soon on a tv near you!
AROFISH - super quality and very special prints, been featured in Huck magazine this month and is about to release some new sets of stuff on 7press.co.uk, all different colours.

Ive got some Jamie Reid stuff on my walls at the mo, check out the peoples gallery thread theres some pics on there.
There was an exhibition signing last night in Farringdon and i went along to meet him - very very cool indeed.

I dont think thats a bad thing. Faile would have taken their influence from somewhere and they from somewhere else and so forth.
As long as he can develop that and move it on - there will be good stuff.
Ive just started collecting his stuff and opus have been quickly snapping it up as well so its not a bad thing is my eyes!

Doubtful, only problem with Eelus was his flooding of the market with different colourways of the same images. But even then, not sure that this is a negative thing. It's in keeping with the ethos of street art, far more so than exclusive ltd editions, this is what I think he intended. But it got misinterpreted by people as a cynical ploy to generate more cash. I'd like to say that Eelus doesn't have a cynical bone in his body, probably just got swept along with it all. He's a great guy, very talenented and I'm sure we'll be seeing some cool work in the future.
