Where is Banksy?, by mose on Apr 13, 2007 18:11:03 GMT 1, to go even further than a tag/art piece, i had a friend in college who used to put up his full name and social security number (!!!). he never got busted, though in this day and age of identity theft, i don't think i would advise this method.

Where is Banksy?, by finsburyparkranger on Apr 13, 2007 18:37:04 GMT 1, The head of Sony had to stop flyposting in Camden, UK because the council threatened to issue an 'anti social behavior order'. I think It was argued that because his organisation was who would benefit from the fly posting he was responsible even though he didn't actually do it himself. It that instance it was nice to see a head of multi national being held responsible for once. Maybe the rules are more draconian in the UK ?

You could go scot free even after you've murdered someone and had left DNA evidence *cough*O.J.*cough*

Where is Banksy?, by mybeautifulsunset on Apr 14, 2007 9:27:37 GMT 1, To avoid getting busted, and maybe he's getting older now, I guess Banksy has evolved into putting his mark on other art forms now, such as prints and live installations. I would suppose he probably goes by a different name with some of the other things he is doing as well. I wonder if he has left his trail somewhere around, only for us to decipher.

A gas mask when doing street work? Please... That wouldn't be particularly incognito, would it? As for the paint on hands evidence, that's what latex gloves are for.
The real point is this: If you were Banksy and you had just completed a work of street art / act of vandalism (possibly with the assistance of a mate acting as lookout), would you be stupid enough to have your photo taken alongside it, so that it could be used as evidence against you in court? I think not. Banksy isn't fourteen. Even if he was stupid and fourteen, would he be holding a yellow spraypaint can, or the black one he used last when completing the work?
Separately, consider all the photos out there of different people, each supposedly being a photo of Banksy. If I was the artist, I would release all these photos myself. The more that exist, the lesser the credibility that would be given to any real photo that might be leaked. It's called a preemptive strike.

nowt better than muddying the waters, to throw people off the scent. lets be honest, would you really want to know who he is, what he looks like etc, because he'd just be another celebrity to fill the pages of OK magazine and such like.
