What material do you use for stencils? , by optiknerve on Jan 3, 2009 18:55:29 GMT 1, I tend to use acetate or polyester mylar, love the re-usablility. Here are a couple of recent (ish) stencils I have done.

What material do you use for stencils? , by LEVI C on Jan 10, 2009 14:10:03 GMT 1, Super low mil acitate all the way for me, can peel the paint off after a few spays, best not to if its easy to line the layers up as the weight off the paint acts as extra weights. Also more difficult to break fragile detailed stencils. Ideal for multiple layers being clear.
Here's a multi-layer piece i'm working on.
Now Open Sundays
cheers (edit - oops sorry realised it's not street art so not sure if welcome in his section. Just thought it might help)

What material do you use for stencils? , by bjm88 on Jan 11, 2009 0:54:15 GMT 1, I'm not exactly a pro here, but 200gsm A3's have worked fine for the hand full of pieces I've done. thin printer paper and spraymount however, not necessarily a great combination if you intend to use a stencil more than once
love the man on the bench by the way optiknerve

What material do you use for stencils? , by delete08 on Jan 13, 2009 21:45:38 GMT 1, For big pieces waxy "stencil card" (also called EZE Cut I think) from London Graphics Centre, bit pricy but lasts. Lasts a lot longer than pieces in Leake Street anyway! Here's one I did earlier...

What material do you use for stencils? , by 6floes on Jan 14, 2009 4:31:37 GMT 1, when i stencil, instead of bridging with uncut parts i tend to cut it out how i want it to look and bridge it with toothpicks and a hot glue gun i use waxed manilla folders as my stencils they last for ages and are sturdy as f**k! if i have it, i usually add a small wooden frame it, just so its sturdy and can be used any time REAAAAL quick i think i stencilled about 100 small marios around where i live with the one stencil and about 50 bowsers i couldve gotten more but i hit everywhere already XD
edit: oh and the toothpicks barely show up in the spray, and u can raise them slightly so u can barely even tell theyre there when u look hard

What material do you use for stencils? , by the only texas pete on Jun 22, 2021 22:03:02 GMT 1, Appreciate it’s been 11 years since last post 🤣 wanting to give Stencil spray painting a go. In the Last 11 years, any updates on what the best material to use and cut. And how you make sure templates line up if your planning on doing more than one screen? Also Is mtn 94 a good spray paint? Thank you Alexei

Try tracing your image and then laminate it in a laminating pouch Thin tracking paper works best and run it through the laminator a few times An in expensive way of doing it and you will get a few sprays out of it

What material do you use for stencils? , by iamzero on Jun 25, 2021 23:09:22 GMT 1, I don’t attach them to card. I find the paper alone gives me the stencils I need to create what I want to paint.
