Your Street Art Picture Gallery, by gm on Feb 18, 2006 14:45:28 GMT 1, Speaking of doors we didn't nick...
That appeared round the corner from where I work about a year ago. 3 weeks later a demolition crew arrived, built a huge fence around the building it was on, and the door disappeared shortly after that. Don't know who got it but it wasn't me I hope it was someone that appreciates it for what it is, and that it didn't just get chucked in a skip and end up in a dump or a scrapyard somewhere.

c6.org/nuart
you have to see it close up, it's a tiny dot matrix stencil.. part of a massive planned series. This one will shortly appear with a txt mobile number next to it..
probably more info on c6.org shortly, and certainly during nuart 07

No problem, I think they have some support from a laser but still, part of a larger concept piece that's interesting.

Your Street Art Picture Gallery, by rabbitlegs on Mar 6, 2007 1:40:16 GMT 1, Not being funny but a lazer?...Call me a luddite but a flippin lazer. Does this not take much of the craftmanship from the end result?
Sorry to go all car on you... But take Aston Martin... Hand made panels, Hand made engine, Hand made interior, Bespoke craftmanship through and through . ( with a special pricetag to match, and rightly so ! )
Now look at the toyota corrola ,made by a robot and a lazer...(nuff said)
Dont get me wrong Im not a Techno-Phobe but this just seems like cheating to me,

When something's laser cut it loses something in my eyes. I like to know there's been at least some skill been put into making it beyond just spraying. I don't mind people using photoshop rather than freehand so not completely against using computers etc.
Still doesn''t stop me from liking the piece above, and will be interesting to see where they go with it.

That was my first thougth (and argument with the person who made it), but.. they work with GRL who's sole aim is to outfit graffiti writers and street artists with high end open source technologies. i.e to give urban activists access to the same technologies that governments and the armed forces have ;D ;D ;D
The last time I dealt with GRL, one of the groups day job was working on the Mars Landing Craft for Nasa ! They then apply their knowledge and software development processes to street art ! Hence they have access to lazers ! me, I want a jetpack so I can reach the places other artist cannot reach ;D

it would be impossible to cut without a laser unless it was about 90ft tall
