Graffiti vandals make Madonna weep, by finsburyparkranger on Apr 10, 2007 20:22:16 GMT 1, I thought Mr B stopped signing his pieces long ago? In the UK, according to some late night telly, tags are concrete evidence that can be used against you and from what i hear, they can stack up the tags and cause you a nightmare when you are next pulled into court. Far more sensible to lose the tag and play the 'if you can't catch me red handed - you ain't got me' game. Or in this case - green handed.
I actually like this new legal development. It incentivises clever graffiti.
Yeah I swear the Rat right out side the barbican entrance (to the left as you come out, a couple of buildings down) with the placard 'london isn't working', is new.
Could London be in for a treat?

Graffiti vandals make Madonna weep, by tomhills1 on Apr 10, 2007 20:38:24 GMT 1, you're right about the tagging thing FPR, although it is nothing new. 13 years ago i was taken to court for something i got caught at bang to rights. the tagging scenario - they present you with a load of instances that bear your hallmark but they don't have anymore evidence than that to prosecute. they then give you the opportunity to have them taken in to consideration when the charges are brought against you. if you did not ask for them to be taken in to consideration, then you run the risk of a further prosecution at a later date, should more evidence come to light. funnily enough, i wonder if having a conviction against your name for using a certain tag would then incriminate you if subsequent charges were brought?
i didn't wait to find out ;D

Graffiti vandals make Madonna weep, by finsburyparkranger on Apr 10, 2007 20:44:36 GMT 1, Yeah, there used to be a 'fuse' in north london. He / she covered the Finsbury park area like a dog pissing spray paint. One day he/she stopped and there was never a new tag again. I always wondered what happened to him/ her. Maybe we should have a 'where are they now section'.

Graffiti vandals make Madonna weep, by smashedhat on Apr 11, 2007 8:27:55 GMT 1, just came across this thread, I saw a couple of people who were clearly not JC decaux staff! The HV jackets were a nice touch but not entirely convincing!
I wish I'd stayed around to watch instead of going in to the crack den pub

i would bet that they went up the scaffolding cut if and poured paint through the hole, be a bit extreme to absail down while spraying all the way, but who know's
however having said this i like your creative thinking on ways it could have been done, got any more

They could have painted a few hundred snails, stuck them to the top and watched them slide down leaving the paint marks behind them ;D
