LOS ANGELES Framers โข Who do you Recommend?, by raiden on Jul 1, 2008 3:13:53 GMT 1, I now have several large sized prints that I have yet to frame and was wondering if anyone can recommend a CHEAP custom frame shop in the LA area? Ideally, the cheapest in LA while still being competent. Yes, I've looked on citysearch and google, but I figured someone here probably has done this drill before and I've gotten sky high estimates. ($500+ for 145cm x 95cm)

Also the cost mostly depends on the materials used for framing so if you using high end materials its going to cost a lot more.

Peres Projects uses this place for last minute frame jobs, mike kelley also takes some of his stuff there (or his people do). Decent frame for a great price...

LOS ANGELES Framers โข Who do you Recommend?, by nggordon on May 21, 2011 2:00:20 GMT 1, i recently ordered a custom frame for my red kaws bob print except im not happy with the backing and the glass so i want to take it to a framer to have them take care of it for me. i keep seeing dirt and flakes on the inside of the glass and im worried its going to ruin the print, i also see some squiggles in the glass
i really just want it to be framed well for preservation, its already got its place on the wall
i live in manhattan beach/ Los Angeles, CA
any suggestions on where to take it would be great, thanks guys

By far the best prices in town, they are always busy though sometimes it takes a few weeks to get pieces done. To give you an idea of prices: Saber "Rebel Flag" - archival materials, 1 1/2 white wood frame with museum plexi cost around $350. A few 18"x24" prints have cost between $90-$160 depending on frame and matting. Hope that helps.

It's run by one guy and you don't have do deal with other employees. He knows his stuff, uses the best materials and is cheap. You can go plain or as elaborate as you want. Check out the stuff he's framed from me.

Okay cool, thanks for the heads up. That helps with the piece of mind. How'd you get your Banksy framed, I assume given his rep that all materials including floating pieces are all with archival materials?

Agree with above... well not the best, but the original post also mentioned reasonable in pricing which is not FD even without the special touches. Go to FD if you want something different and be prepared to pay for it. |

They were reasonable, helpful and pretty efficient. They have great Yelp reviews too. I would recommend if you aren't looking for fancy.

I have another place, to take your special pieces to be framed...frame monster in cypress park. I literally spent about 3 hours there yesterday talking over 5 different pieces with those guys. They are doing a couple of custom frames for my sweettoofs and this sick custom frame for some stickers I had that I wanted framed
Up. Will definitely post pics once they're finished. But those guys are the real deal. I would definitely check them out.
