Because it builds hype and promotes the brand. It makes people want it even if they don't like the image.
Great marketing. That is why so many artist sell their stuff below market and keep supply low.

My man is coming back to Kent soon, I sent him off at 3 am, with a couple of grand cash to get as many as he could, I may give him a ยฃ30 bonus if he did as instructed and got 400.
he can start listing them on ebay too when he gets back

Yes ! I think so... There was the " year of the rabbit's, lp' from Roa ( limited to 50x3 editions ) ... In first, some ask 250 ยฃ for 50ยฃ when it was out... ON ebay, 2 weeks after, you find it for 65/70ยฃ, right now...
But, i don't understand people in this forum who want that Banksy poster should be reserved for GB ?! ... It' s so patriotic, what's about the " rest of the world ? " Anyway, i think it s not according Banksy mind and ideas...
