Banksy • Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by tab1 on Dec 22, 2020 16:47:50 GMT 1, Any word on the source of the fakes? or this is An inside job
www.metroclassified.co.uk/how-to-advertise
They Could run an advert For a week to publicize the return of the items , thereforE they have taken steps to contact buyers , as their contact list may of changed , new phone number , email etc
A poster is making a point on this thread he has not been contacted , so may be insinuating that they may not be contacting all buyers ? An advert would cover al bases

Banksy • Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by JaniceJotwin on Dec 22, 2020 20:03:25 GMT 1, Hey hey I have several of these and open to selling one - I bought 5 on these (limited to buying max5 at the time) on that wet rainy morning outside Hamilton House at the anarchist book fair. Happy to send pictures if anyone is interested and take any questions. Cheers I know that it was rainy : I ( still ) have a lot of Facebook mates from Brizzle ! Most artists or vandals ! There is a famous photo where the guy burned this poster just for fun as it was a petrol bomb. He - as us - did not know then the prices of them ! So how much would you sell one ?
A couple of photos of the three I have left - 100% genuine article
And not setting a price here - If your interested drop me a dm

Banksy • Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by inefficiency of on Jan 1, 2021 23:31:36 GMT 1, I forgot to say how lucky this person is Agreed. I initially thought it unlikely that anybody would still have all five £5 posters 10 years after they were sold...?!
I got 5 on the day, only have 2 left now. Swapped one with the owner of VNA mag for some LTD edition VNA’s back when it was first released and sold two the same week. Wish I’d kept them now. I suppose Wouldn’t be completely unlikely to have 5 still though. 🤔

Yup, was refunded last month, and reimbursed for shipping and framing as well. No additional details from Tate on how it happened, though. The silver lining or upside, at least for me, is that it has made me a far more skeptical buyer, so maybe I have a better shot of not purchasing blatantly fake items again. We’ll see!

Unfortunately, I have decided to let go my Petrol Bomb print. I have heard the news about fakes being in circulation, but I am confident this one is legit. See the pictures below to judge for yourself. The print comes with provenance. PM me if interested!
Thanks

Banksy • Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by daniel3886 on Jan 5, 2021 23:42:43 GMT 1, We are in the final stages of contacting/examining/refunding where necessary.
As I stated twice before once we have all the facts I will update this thread with the outcome. I appreciate it may not be to everyone here’s preferred timescale, but having not heard back from some buyers the situation is out of my control. So I’d ask for some further patience to allow us to present the facts.

Banksy • Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by Lroy on Jan 6, 2021 8:05:01 GMT 1,
Funny one is selling the Baden Baden Frieder Burda museum at 700 ( last mines were sold 80 ) , it’s a very nice poster indeed. Terrible, i m wondering why another one wrote signed Exit Banksy poster , it’s a lie, I know / exchange with PC, Banksy never signed any poster ( a guy from Bristol sold me one for 400 £ 10 years ago, I mailed him about S.Y. and fakes, his mum reimbursed me 2 days after lol ) . I’m wondering again why in fact Movie, Time out, Exhibition posters have more value ? Because it’s more difficult to print than a Petrol Bomb or a Soup can ? I don’t know if 85% ( the Frieda could not be ) are fakes or not, but it’s a bit frightening to buy this on eBay ... And a Flyer, a tube, a package, does not mean anything, at the contrary ! I have plenty Pow tubes in the attic and so what ?! It s not a proof of authenticity, I can put anutying, I mean another poster in it ...

Has anyone told him it was a fake? He had it framed since 2012, so probably was none the wiser.

Banksy • Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by orchid on Jan 6, 2021 15:58:27 GMT 1, I think it goes to show, unless you acquire this type of cheap ephemera from source yourself or possibly a family member, forget it. Save up and get a certified edition or don't bother (failing that, a Banksy-authorised printout). If you buy, assume a good chance it'll be from one of these fraudsters. The market for these is way overvalued, full of fakes and fraudsters and won't be worth what you think in the future. No gallery or auction house can do 100% due diligence and would sooner rather take your money. Or another novel thought, buy another piece, maybe from an unknown. Crazy, huh.

Banksy • Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by Sundowner on Jan 7, 2021 21:46:41 GMT 1, For the avoidance of doubt, the Petrol Bomb that sold on ebay was mine. I did not realise it was fake and when I had read this thread I proactively messaged the buyer to let them know that if there was any doubt as to its authenticity, I would refund them immediately. The piece has been subsequently destroyed.
Interestingly the shitehawk I bought the piece from (who is an active member on here) has failed to respond to any of my messages asking where he acquired it from. Needless to say I have now written this off.

Unlike some on here who clearly love a witch-hunt, I see this issue as being between myself and the seller. At this point in time (and despite the deafening silence), I am not sure whether the person who sold it to me necessarily knew it wasn't genuine so I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they eventually respond to my messages.
