For me, its a nice colourful image which i like, secondly its a map of the world which I also like.

Thirdly, and i guess most importantly, its by a street artist who has been all over the world actually painting on the streets unlike the majority of so called street artists these days, and not doing it for the fame but doing it for the impact. He's gone up against some ridiculously big brands and defaced their property all over the world, and to me this print is a good representation of that. I prefer it to the logo's, probably because i'm not a fan of logo's.

Lets not forget Zevs is a real old school graffer who while the majority paint legal or semi legal spots these days (including buildings that are closed down and off the radar which i class as semi legal), goes big and goes up against corporations that fuck people over, all over the world, and gets banged up for his art.....

My thoughts on it, but hey as i say, each to their own. At least its not an overused stencil of a mouse with a balloon and a gun or something equally daft.

I've seen much better maps in a Rand McNally book.

My post is not intended to be offensive in any way towards collectors and artist. I know Zevs background and past deeds, his works are certainly not my cup of tea and like you say, each to their own but I consider that print really weak (especially regarding all things he's done).
it's just I sometimes have the feeling that people just get interest in some prints because of the Name behind. Come on, it's just a colored map, hence my question... What's so interesting about it ? I first thought the colors were referring to Olympics rings but it's not even the case. Are the colors meaning anything ? or just random ?

(And totally agree about the Rat / Balloon / Ak47 or whatever pseudo street art pieces we see once too often).

PS : not willing to start a "fight", just a genuine question and criticism about the piece.

But thats the point Cedric, to you its 'just a coloured map' but to me its a statement of Zevs liquidated work on big brands all over the world as i mentioned in my last post, to others it might be something different, i don't know. As for the colours used, i'm not the artist mate, i don't know if there is a deep meaning behind them or its just that those are the colours they had at the time in the print studio.
I have always liked Zevs ethic and work, have followed him for along time, and have no work of his on my walls as don't like the idea of having a logo on my wall, even if it is from his liquidated series. This print to me is strong, but as i say, each to their own and if you don't agree then thats just fine.

And yes you are right, if it was by a different artist it would just be a drippy map of the world and i would have no interest in it, but then any other artist would not have Zevs history of using the technique so i feel the point is moot personally....
