New Emin Book and Print, by pezlow on May 29, 2009 20:20:37 GMT 1, Yeah I've bought this one. It's quite small so I am sure I can find somewhere for it to go. Of all her drawings I like the scratchy nudes the best. I prefer it to the counter-editions one or the one on her site.

New Emin Book and Print, by afroken on May 29, 2009 20:39:45 GMT 1, one for the love shack, hey Pez?
I'm not sure my walls can handle much more graphic muff given the Kelsey Brookes I got from Laz Shop, otherwise I'd be all over this (so to speak).

Cracking print
I think they come up at auction occassionaly. No idea of likey cost - maybe around 1k a while ago, maybe less in current economic climate.
Good luck trying to find one. c

New Emin Book and Print, by Winter on May 29, 2009 21:59:36 GMT 1, Last one I saw available was £850. A nice print but there's a long list of work I'd prefer for £850.

New Emin Book and Print, by bullet on May 29, 2009 22:01:44 GMT 1, sorry, not being a moron but i don't get it.
sometimes i think its about the name on the wall rather than the piece itself but if you enjoy it thats good.
think the new one is a tad vile.

New Emin Book and Print, by Coach on May 29, 2009 22:14:42 GMT 1, It would be very boring if we all liked the same things in equal measures. I happen to love this piece, but equally I respect the fact that lots of people dont like it. Lots of people love the haywain.

FR I hear what you are saying. Of course, I wouldnt have paid 500 quid for the Kate Moss print, if it had been by an unknown artist. That doesn't detract from the fact that I really like the piece. Likewise, you wouldnt be showing off (quite rightly - it's a smashing piece) the wall size piece on another thread if it wasnt by known artists, like dface, tlp etc. Obviously the profile, for want of a better word, counts for something. But I wouldnt hang the print if I didnt love it. I certainly didnt buy it just to have a name on the wall as you suggest.

That gormley is a million times better than the door you have. That said, I would not be interested in paying that much for it.
You have a group of sketches which mean nothing - you yourself have argued about the validity of artwork with no 'message'. The gormley you mock is a trace out from footprints. As you'll be aware from archeology foot prints are a unique way to show that extinct animals once roamed this earth. Trees rings are also brought to mind, suggesting the longer you live, the larger the impression you leave.
In todays society, we are all made to feel insignificant, yet this piece re-enforces the fact that all of us will leave our own mark on history. What does your door say? Had a good night sketching with some mates?
Take the time to think about what an artist is trying to say before being so flippant next time. You yourself said you want to see more art with 'message', yet you miss the fuckin obvious and very life affirming message in Gormley's work?
Sorry to dig you out, but sometimes mate, you really do ask for it, slicked back hair!!!!!WTF !!! Gormley is a real artist and all his work has a message at some level, its not even hard to see.
EDIT - was wrong to say juvenile, these are grown men

New Emin Book and Print, by bullet on May 30, 2009 1:15:35 GMT 1, a board of cool illustrations - not art i may add - is very different from a some stuck up pieces of art like the white cube sells. saying that i have been there and found the hirst skull etc interesting but its wanky to be honest, cant be bothered with it.
the white cube is full of people staring at pieces of artwork going hmmmm, arrrr, oooooo, mmmmm. pointing and moving onto the next one. boring.
so you telling me you would pay £2.75k for some rings on some paper. go on then, put your money where your mouth is american psycho.

New Emin Book and Print, by bullet on May 30, 2009 1:16:47 GMT 1, plus i really hate 'art' where the message is so deep it becomes f**k all
if you had that on your wall and your best friends came over and asked what those rings on the paper were and you explained that, they would most likely think you were a bit strange.

New Emin Book and Print, by klyde on May 30, 2009 6:28:29 GMT 1, The Kate Moss print looks good. Could hang that. Nice and simple. Clean lines. Nothing ground breaking though. Actually looks like the first 5 minutes work of a sketch!
Childish scribbles of penises etc, I just do not get.
