Banksy - GWB for sale (Offers around 4K), by Hubble Bubble on Jul 1, 2011 12:55:12 GMT 1, It's beautiful, Chief. Took inspiration from your framing and had mine done by MFM in black gilt with a cream insert. Haven't had the courage to post yet but should share I guess. I too think it's worth every penny. Good luck with the sale.

Banksy - GWB for sale (Offers around 4K), by Rolex on Jul 5, 2011 22:29:47 GMT 1, This is mad really, I wouldn't be happy paying ยฃ3000 for this because of the edition size, yet ridiculusly I would consider payingยฃ13000 for a signed one. I can't get my head around unsigned banksy prices, I think the HMV & barcode on eBay are equal to this, & they are half the price. Good luck with the sale.

What kind of daft question is that?
Is there any difference? Is there a difference between a Rolex and a Chinese copy? Is there a difference between a Louis Vitton handbag and one from some guy on the street?
Value. Collectability. Potential for appreciation. The fact that it's REAL and includes a COA.

Banksy - GWB for sale (Offers around 4K), by jones27 on Oct 25, 2011 10:29:34 GMT 1, mate dont be a knob end. The price of art is all relative, what on sale here at 4k cost literally a fiver to make. Its not like Banksy printed these himself. What Im asking is the difference in paper and quality. Im not looking at taking a reproduction to the antiques road show in 2040. Get a grip ffs.

Banksy - GWB for sale (Offers around 4K), by Deleted on Oct 25, 2011 10:36:38 GMT 1, jones27 there is a huge thread about the reproduction prints by The West Country Prince on here, can't post a link as I'm using my phone but a lot of the more recent posts are discussing the quality etc , by all accounts the Rats he's done are great not sure that the GWB have been posted out yet. Remember though it is only a copy and when its on your wall you will deep down always know that's all it is. cnh

Banksy - GWB for sale (Offers around 4K), by redfred on Oct 25, 2011 10:43:57 GMT 1, My GWB from WCP is excellent although I must admit I have never owned an original to compare, won't be getting framed as I have no room to display it, would be a little ironic to take down a signed Banksy to make room for this but at ยฃ55 for me it was too good to miss, maybe one day it will hit the wall.

Me being a knob? You come onto a thread where someone is selling an authentic print and start asking "gee mate, why's this any better then a fake reproduction?". The original has nothing to prove to the copy, ITS THE ORIGINAL.
If you have questions about a s**tty knock off - go ask the person making the s**tty knock off. The person selling the original owes no explanation. Rolex doesn't have to answer to "Well, they both display the same time? Don't they?".
As for your "[it costs] a fiver to make" argument. I have a secret for ya: Canvases cost even LESS to make. Factor in inflation, and Picasso's probably cost a few pence! And that BMW at the dealership, psssht, it's just metal and cow hide. How daft are you... really?
If you have no interest in buying a Banksy for any sort of investment or future increase in value; THEN MOVE ALONG. The romper room is right here: urbanartassociation.com/index.cgi?board=ebaychat&action=display&thread=85943

Without getting into an argument i think he was asking if there is any physical difference between the two probably in the wrong section But i have to say there are differences between a fake rolex and a real one eg rolex movement and precise engineering etc same with a BMW but with a screen printed piece of paper? Also interesting point about investment though is that the real reason we cherish our og Banksys

Banksy - GWB for sale (Offers around 4K), by Lunch Special on Oct 25, 2011 15:12:24 GMT 1, The diffeerence is that the productions are not and were not made with the same message by the artist, they are soley reproduced to produce a profit for the seller.
plain and simple. you can not justify a fake one next to an authentic one. it just doesnt make any sense unless its done for security purposes like, hanging it in the bathroom to wipe your arse with it because you already own the original print.

So by your logic - there is no difference between the Mona Lisa hanging in the Louvre and one you can buy from the gift shop? Or a better example might be a Warhol. The first Soup Can Warhol ever screened is just as valuable and desirable as one printed by Sunday Morning a month ago? Come on now. Who are you trying to fool?
As for investment - "interesting"? How about "factual". Why is it the For Sale section has the most popular discussions on here? Why is it people pay attention to what Bonhams or Christies is doing? Why are people standing in line in the freezing cold to get a print?
It is because of love? I'm sure to a degree. It is because of appreciation/investment? ยฅโฌ$, ยฅโฌ$ it is.
