Murdoch/NoTW, by notworthit on Jul 10, 2011 15:50:40 GMT 1, Am I missing something here?
I can't find a single mention on here of the current News International palaver?
I thought we were an opinionated lot!
Surely one of the main driving forces behind urban art is suposedly to 'fu*k the system' Are we really that apothetic these days? I'm amazed that noone has anything to say on the subject.
Maybe I've been on twitter too long the past few days and no-one gives a sh1t

Murdoch/NoTW, by Deleted on Jul 10, 2011 16:04:27 GMT 1, The most important thing is justice.
That those from News International pay for their despicable form of journalism. That the police corruption is exposed and that they understand they are not above the law, and work for our benefit; not their own twisted desires. And that politicians realise that what has been going on for far too long is not acceptable.
At every level changes need to be made.
Time will tell, but I take my hat off to those that persevered with this story.

Murdoch/NoTW, by johnnyh on Jul 15, 2011 12:54:28 GMT 1, Missing the point guys. One a load of innocent people who work for that paper will lose their jobs. People who are not the journos who were doing the hacking. The top people are getting away with it. Including the prime minister who hired the editor. Why not ask for his resignation if people want culprits and the police who conspired with them. As mentioned closing the paper achieved nothing other than small guys lose job and clears a lot of the others IMO
Johnny

Of course not, and I don't think we're naiive enough to think it does.
But what this has done is expose the corruption in the police and the crap peddled by the Murdoch empire. Combined with fawning politicians. For too long both the police and the newspapers have been arrogant, seeing themselves as above the law, treating the public as idiots.
Chnage may not be immediate, if at all. But it has brought an end to the expansion of Murdoch et al - for the time being at least.

With respect, A machine that big will not disappear, just the opposite given time.Corruption has been exposed in the press for years yet nothing really changes. The big story that few mention is this was very simple to do (hack the vmail) I saw it with my own eyes many years ago and systems were obviously not put in place with the phone operators
I'm guessing had it been proved how simple it was and the nations mobile phone users were aware just how fragile private info was then the story would be 100x bigger(no slight to the victims in this story)
While i don't condone anything done, and avoided those filthy papers since the 'gotcha' headline, it all smacks of scapegoat given lots of different papers were up to no good.Sure sack her and blame her for everything, fact remains plenty of other papers are bang at it

Murdoch/NoTW, by Deleted on Jul 18, 2011 0:40:22 GMT 1, FLASH: Former News Int. CEO Rebekah Brooks bailed by police following arrest over phone hacking investigation
I'd be more interested in opinion pieces rather than breaking news headlines
I for one am hoping for some street pieces by a certain someone attacking the corrupt nature of the Establishment in this country, let's hope there's still a bit of anger left in this country not just apathy and greed.

Posh boy has cut short his trip to Africa, ain't he heard of the starving millions? Just kidding....to show how much he cares he's taken Barclays chief executive Bob Diamond and senior Vodafone, Waitrose, G4S and Diageo bosses. 'Midst all the civil wars and corruption just what Africa needs right now.
