An exhibition of collaborative and solo works by
Remi Rough & John 'Crash' Matos
'Flow' opens Thursday 16th January.
A mutual appreciation of one another's work led to the idea of this collaborative show almost 2 years ago.
Both artists honed their painting styles and techniques from the long bygone subway culture but have since gone on to exhibit their work in galleries and museums all over the world.
Crash's work is in numerous high profile collections and museums he has also painted numerous fender crashocasters, now owned by world famous musicians whilst Remi's mural projects have gone on to become city landmarks, much like the Megaro Hotel in London or the Moda Hotel in Vancouver.
A limited edition, collaborative screen print is also being produced to coincide with the exhibition.

The print is 50cm x 50cm, printed in 6 colours and will be available through Dorian Grey Gallery during the exhibition.
Edition size has yet to be confirmed but I'm led to believe it will be quite limited.
We will hopefully have more information on this very soon!

basically the gallery couldn't do the print release online, so announced a day or so before the release that it would no longer be online, and prints would go to people who had emailed them already on a first-come-first-served basis. they had already had loads of emails about the print so with no online drop seemed fairest way.. of course people who hadn't emailed weren't happy, the usual storm-in-teacup, people who missed out on the print saying worst release ever blah blah...
some of these collabs look fantastic btw..

Depends how you see it. fair do's if thats the case happyshopper. always gonna be some people disappointed in these situations though. seemed to me like the gallery were genuine folks who maybe didn't quite expect the overwhelming demand the show/print got. much easier to let people down via email than someone who's come to your opening night in person with money to spend, would prob do the same myself being honest. |
