BEWARE • Fake Invader Prints, by concrete jungle on May 25, 2022 23:32:27 GMT 1, I’ve owned a legit one of these in the past, and recollect the A was indeed crossed. I’ve noticed a few dodgy sellers from Spain on the Bay recently - the never ending supply of POW Banksy soup cans (poster) being a good (bad) example…….
Others may have more insight but I’d admit I’d be worried. You probably need to gather up as much evidence of potential fakery as possible before you go back to Catawiki…….

BEWARE • Fake Invader Prints, by Wallet Invaded on May 26, 2022 2:53:41 GMT 1, Damn. Thank you for the responses. I really let my guard down with Catawiki because of their "experts". Do you think there is any recourse? Any advice on how to approach this with Catawiki or is this pretty much done for me. For the record I did not purchase the Ebay one, I am a lot more skeptical about Ebay which is what set me off to look more closely at what I purchased from Cata.

BEWARE • Fake Invader Prints, by met on May 26, 2022 3:04:51 GMT 1, Hi - first post here. I'm hoping someone can help me figure out if I got high level scammed. A bit of back story.. Purchased my first In vader print from Catawiki auctions a month ago. Received it with original receipt and all POW related material. Stored it away and didn't think anything of it until "Alex" came up for auction recently on Eb ay. The seller messaged me 2 days before the auction ended explaining that he would be away and that he can end it early with me being the winner. Price seemed a bit cheap but not terribly but it got me looking at things a bit closer. I noticed right away that the A in the signature is not closed. This print was coming from Spain and set off some markers reminding me that mine was from Spain as well. I checked my print and the A is not closed as well. Link attached for the print I bought - along with images from both prints explained in the post. Thank you! www.catawiki.com/en/l/55797679-invader-1969-rubik-kubrick-ii-signed
Wallet Invaded — Sadly, the February 2022 Catawiki link you helpfully posted was corrupted by a recent, automated change to this forum, one that switches all references to popular artists into eBay advertisements.
Hopefully, the following link will work:
www.catawiki.com/en/l/55797679
__________
To reiterate Fred West Country Prince's earlier comment, you were defrauded.
What you presently own is a counterfeit Invader (probably a giclée, not a screenprint) and counterfeit provenance documentation.
I won't disclose the multiple tells, to avoid better educating the scammers who frequent this place — but my certainty here is 100%.
And "100%" means no doubt whatsoever. In other words, I'd be comfortable betting my life that the above assessment is correct.
__________
Reach out to Anthony Chrisp, the so-called expert at Catawiki, and demand an immediate refund.
This fake Invader should never have slipped through his net. It leads me to believe that Chrisp:
(i) is ignorant / incompetent; or
(ii) is dishonest; or
(iii) is recklessly irresponsible and unprofessional on matters of authenticity; or
(iv) was asleep at the wheel throughout the duration of the Catawiki auction.
28 photos accompanying the Catawiki listing:
[Scamming 101, Rule 73: Provide an excessive number of photographs when selling, to give potential marks the impression that you are forthcoming and transparent, thereby enhancing both your credibility and appearance of trustworthiness.]
__________
Your Catawiki seller is likely to be the eBay fraudster, visualgallery*. See this forum thread*.
They also sold a counterfeit Rubik Kubrik (Alex) on Catawiki in December 2020. And it looks like that sale was on Anthony Chrisp's watch as well.
Under the circumstances, perhaps Chrisp would be willing to provide some details on the identity of Catawiki user 834412d:

I have a feeling I have a pretty uphill battle ahead to get a refund almost two months later. Its a shame, I was in the middle of a move so pretty much kept the print sealed. Lesson learned.
Also no need for Anthony, here are the details :
LORENZO AGUADO MINAYA Calle Chopera, paseo 38 local 6 - ARTCOLLECTOR 28045 MADRID Spain

It is very much worth trying, while being politely forceful and persistent, especially because this is a clear case of fraud.
If unsuccessful with Catawiki, contact the fraud department of the issuer of the debit or credit card you used for your payment.

It gives other collectors here a heads-up on at least one name to keep an eye out for.

BEWARE • Fake Invader Prints, by Wallet Invaded on May 26, 2022 13:20:12 GMT 1, I'm happy the thread at least prevented someone from going through what I am currently dealing with. Unfortunately it looks like it still got scooped up pretty quickly, sold within an hour I think. This is after I called Ebay to notify them that this print is fake. Be careful out there.

BEWARE • Fake Invader Prints, by Wallet Invaded on Jun 27, 2022 14:05:21 GMT 1, I wanted to provide a quick update to anyone who visited this original post. I spent quite a lot of time looking at every high resolution Jack image edition I could find on this site. After compiling a signature and edition number collage from multiple editions I reached out to Catawiki with my findings. I am pleased to say that the experts over there did agree with everyone here that this is indeed a fraudulent print and they are issuing a full refund. The process was actually very smooth and professional and has bolstered my confidence in the platform. This is certainly a lesson for everyone involved, sounds like there will be a lot more scrutiny with Invader pieces moving forward. I just want to thank everyone on here for taking the time to confirm my suspicions. The print is out of circulation and buyers are a lot more protected now that at least one major auction platform is aware of the situation.
