Updated: SIGNED - B&W Morons for sale - w/photos, by krazy on Jun 28, 2007 2:31:06 GMT 1, I've just purchased a new Original from KAWS, so I'm reluctantly selling my SIGNED B&W Morons. I thought I'd put it up here before I throw it on eBay. I am the original owner, so I can provide the PoW provenance (email, etc.). The number is below 100.
The last one went for a respectable ยฃ4,750 on ebay, so I'll take offers AROUND that ballpark.
I'm based in Australia.. so I'll pay for the shipping fee's. You can pay for the optional insurance.
Direct transfer is preferred (I'll scan any ID required, and I can also provide some good references of people on this board that I've previously traded with). If you would prefer paypal, the buyer can pay the fee's.
The print is stored in my (acid free) flat file at the moment. I can either send it rolled in the original tube, or flat, with a couple of layers of Foamcore to protect it.
I'll post some photo's shortly...

Time.... the last auction was about a week ago... so I would say it's worth at least ยฃ1 more by now .
In any case... I modified the post. My mistake . Thanks for dropping my rep points.
Also.. I said that I'm paying for shipping (from Australia!), so surely that makes up for the difference in eBay fees from the last print??

(The unsigned will be worth 5,000 next year at this rate anyway rght?) But hey, you're smart, cash in on the Banksy gold rush while you still can. Sumpin to tell your grandkids about.
Booms Were Made to Go Bust
First of all, it's no big deal to predict booms and busts. All markets boom and bust. It's just easier to predict a bust because the signs are so obvious -- like excess euphoria, easy access to money, huge profits, and scores of happy amateurs entering the market.
Booms are harder to predict. They start silently, like oak acorns buried in the ground -- you don't notice them until they're towering trees. For example, few people recognized Microsoft or Google for the giants they were until after they'd become major players and the big profits had been made. _________________ Sound familiar anyone?

But postage won't nearly cover the couple hundred in ebay fees you would pay. Listen charge what you want to charge and if you sell it at a ridiculous price congrats. Use the money wisely.
I'm just saying you're probably not going to win any friends around here by offering something up for sale for more than what it's sold for just last week or even equal to it. And in theory the one who bought the last print was in essence the highest bidder. He's now been taken off the marklet for the print in so he won't be bidding and in theory the bidding won't be as intense. Of course the second and third place bidders could be suffering from losers remorse and may decide to go way into debt for it and pay any price??? Something you'll have to gamble on if you want to sell it. I suggest just silently putting it up on ebay and fall into the Banksy trap.

Updated: SIGNED - B&W Morons for sale - w/photos, by jp on Jun 28, 2007 6:04:45 GMT 1, To be fair to the original poster, there is pretty much no supply at all of the signed B&W Morons on ebay or even in galleries. I've been looking at galleries for about a month to see what they are selling it for and nobody has it. So the only marker you have for value is what it last sold for. The price he wants is too rich for most I expect, but that's why POW made unsigned prints that are exactly the same except for the signature.

Exactly why the one on ebay sold for so much. But now that the one on ebay sold for such a stupid amount of money it's no surprise we're seeing people like this creep out of the woodwork. If I had one I'd think about cashing in too. Trust me, you'll be seeing more.

Updated: SIGNED - B&W Morons for sale - w/photos, by krazy on Jun 29, 2007 1:21:34 GMT 1, It's amazing to watch my rep drop from 7 down to 1 just because I'm selling a Banksy. For those of you that remember how I got it up to 7.. it was because of my collection that I put up in the 'show off' thread. This should be enough to prove I'm not a 'flipper'.
As I stated before, I'm selling this because I need some quick $$$ to buy an ORIGINAL canvas from KAWS. The rationale is simple... KAWS is my favourite artist, and I would be far happier to put a KAWS original up on my wall. I love the morons, but out of all the Banksy, and other pieces I own.. I love it the least, regardless of what it's future value 'might' be.
I've had a few offers already, all around the ยฃ4500 mark... so I should be closing the deal soon.
I also think it's ironic how people are often criticised for putting something up for sale in here... especially considering the title of the folder is 'Ebay Auctions, Swaps & Trades'.. lol.

It's even more amazing to watch my rep points drop from 4 down to zero because of you just because I asked you why you think your print is worth more than the one lasts old on ebay. And also because I point out that you won't be paying any ebay commission fees. You claim that you'll pay postage but, if I remember correctly, the buyer had to pay for insurance, which by the way will probably be well more than the postage costs.
And then you come back with a snarky comment that your print is worth 1000 pounds more because it's been a week or two since the last one sold. Right, you're a true get your banksy out the door fan. You desereve all the rep points in the world.
You sir are an ass and most definitely dropped my rep points from 4 down to ZERO. And I swear I never touched your rep points when you mentioned it.
I don't give a damn why you want to sell it . Everyone needs the money for something and this isn't a charity event to help increase your art collection. Like you had no idea when you bought Morons that you may want to cash in on a 4000 profit!?! Just so happens you run into a Kaws painting now? Total coincidence. I have a lot of things I'd like to buy too but no need to rub it in anyones face.
Like I said sell your print for whatever you want I don't care, but you come on here acting like a good samaritan for offering it up to forum members for offers MORE than what the last one sold for. And you have this excuse that you only want to sell it because you have a chance to buy a painting
Yeah, real fan.

krazy- good luck with the sale- seems priced about right in the current market- although I bet you will kick yourself in a few months if prices go up further . And make sure you stick some pics of the KAWS canvas in the get your art out thread.

I'm the one going to burst a vein? I'm not the one who has to send taunting private messages to other forum members and go on a campaign to remove all of someones rep points because I'm upset that they called me out on my greed. Like I said, sell your prints for whatever you want. But don't come on here acting like a good samaritan by offering a print at a record high price, telling the buyer they will have to pay paypal and insurance fess and then act like a victim when other forum members drop your rep points for doing so.
Why don't you step away from the computer until you know what you're talking about.
Thanks

But really there are 650 B&W Morons, the Sepia really is like a completely different edition. I recon the higher price is due to fewer of them are coming up on ebay also most of the sellers I've seen of the Sepia seem to be based in the States. That's sure to put off some, as I can imagine there being a hefty customs charge.

Updated: SIGNED - B&W Morons for sale - w/photos, by corblimeylimey on Jul 1, 2007 12:19:36 GMT 1, Although there's more total B&W morons there's only 150 signed ones.
I was having a discussion with a member via PM about this, some editions eg J&J have 350 signed and 350 unsigned (700 total) and lets say Grannies have 150 signed and 500 unsigned (650 total) now logic would dictate a signed Grannies is rarer than a signed J&Jbut in fact the J&J is more expensive so other things obviously come into play, how popular the image is and the age of the print.
Flying Copper has 600 unsigned and only 150 signed (total 750) Grin Reaper 300 signed none unsigned (total 300)
I think in the long term the amount of signed available will have a larger effect in price, what I'm saying is I think a signed edition of 150 ought to be worth more than a signed edition of 300 in the long term.
