First of all, it's no big deal to predict booms and busts. All markets boom and bust. It's just easier to predict a bust because the signs are so obvious -- like excess euphoria, easy access to money, huge profits, and scores of happy amateurs entering the market.

Booms are harder to predict. They start silently, like oak acorns buried in the ground -- you don't notice them until they're towering trees. For example, few people recognized Microsoft or Google for the giants they were until after they'd become major players and the big profits had been made.

To be fair to the original poster, there is pretty much no supply at all of the signed B&W Morons on ebay or even in galleries. I've been looking at galleries for about a month to see what they are selling it for and nobody has it. So the only marker you have for value is what it last sold for. The price he wants is too rich for most I expect, but that's why POW made unsigned prints that are exactly the same except for the signature.

Unfortunately for some, fortunately for others the signed b/w will easily crack 10k in a few months...

It's amazing to watch my rep drop from 7 down to 1 just because I'm selling a Banksy. For those of you that remember how I got it up to 7.. it was because of my collection that I put up in the 'show off' thread. This should be enough to prove I'm not a 'flipper'.

As I stated before, I'm selling this because I need some quick $$$ to buy an ORIGINAL canvas from KAWS. The rationale is simple... KAWS is my favourite artist, and I would be far happier to put a KAWS original up on my wall. I love the morons, but out of all the Banksy, and other pieces I own.. I love it the least, regardless of what it's future value 'might' be.

I've had a few offers already, all around the £4500 mark... so I should be closing the deal soon.

I also think it's ironic how people are often criticised for putting something up for sale in here... especially considering the title of the folder is 'Ebay Auctions, Swaps & Trades'.. lol.

It's even more amazing to watch my rep points drop from 4 down to zero because of you just because I asked you why you think your print is worth more than the one lasts old on ebay. And also because I point out that you won't be paying any ebay commission fees. You claim that you'll pay postage but, if I remember correctly, the buyer had to pay for insurance, which by the way will probably be well more than the postage costs.

And then you come back with a snarky comment that your print is worth 1000 pounds more because it's been a week or two since the last one sold. Right, you're a true get your banksy out the door fan. You desereve all the rep points in the world.

I don't give a damn why you want to sell it . Everyone needs the money for something and this isn't a charity event to help increase your art collection. Like you had no idea when you bought Morons that you may want to cash in on a 4000 profit!?! Just so happens you run into a Kaws painting now? Total coincidence. I have a lot of things I'd like to buy too but no need to rub it in anyones face.

Like I said, sell your prints for whatever you want. What i fail to understand is why does a B&W Morons, go for more than a Sepia. Looking at Ebay, their seems to be some disparity in price between the two

Ah ok. But really there are 650 B&W Morons, the Sepia really is like a completely different edition. I recon the higher price is due to fewer of them are coming up on ebay also most of the sellers I've seen of the Sepia seem to be based in the States. That's sure to put off some, as I can imagine there being a hefty customs charge.
