French MoneyArtist, by Cedric Mnich on Oct 9, 2011 22:32:56 GMT 1, Thanks ilmambo for the explanation. I trust you and will make the proper correction !
@five : it's important to have my views explained and understood. I don't want people to consider I "spit in the soup" or "bite the hand that feeds me". :-)

French MoneyArtist, by Cedric Mnich on Apr 15, 2012 19:31:07 GMT 1, Hello guys,
Thought about sharing some works I made last year and this beginning of year, not related to Urban Art, but I know people here are Art lovers and fond of seeing different things...
First one is "Human Commodities" :
www.maslowboardoftrade.com/ A work about the extreme monetization of commodities and a prospective interrogation about the ethical limits it can or should encounter... This is a free online artwork but also exists as a limited edition collector box.
Second one is a print, called "Contemporary Art Market Index" Quite similar to the previous work, as a thought about Art as an investment vehicle, a new asset class...
Third one is called "CoeXisT" (sorry pics quality has to be improved) :
Good evening to all.

French MoneyArtist, by Cedric Mnich on Apr 16, 2012 10:32:34 GMT 1, Thanks boaty for your feedback (have no access to youtube from work, will check it this evening). That piece is actually an installation. This is a wooden box I made, with ceramic tiles floor (the kind of ceramics you could use to make a bathroom). The dome was made with a metal ceiling light I covered with gold leaf. It is actually hiding a projector light and the light stencil. Furniture and figures are plastic made and are collection figures at 1/6th scale (12" figures). Size is 80 x 50 x 50 cm. Total height with table is about 150 cm. It took me months to gather the correct clothes from ebay or specialized online stores (figures and clothes are quite expensive). These figures are mostly used by military memorabilia collectors so civilian subjects are scarce (and quite expensive). Had to find heads, shirts, glasses, hats etc separately. The box has two lights, one inside the box in order to create a fake natural light from behind the windows. The second one comes from above, as a spot, intended to be a kind of divine light falling on the gun on the table. I made a light stencil in order to have the word "CoeXisT" projected on the gun. It is not very obvious on the pic but the C, the X and the T are made with the religious symbols (islamic croissant, jewish david star and christian cross). This is not an easy piece because religions are always a very touchy subject. My intention is to bring a message of peace. The situation in that closed room is expected to have people think about it, hence the "CoeXisT" title. Besides, this piece is entitled to be part of vast corpus of artworks with similar approaches. Working hard on having all of them together for a show in 2013/2014... (yeah, I am very slow LOL)

French MoneyArtist, by Cedric Mnich on Apr 16, 2012 11:08:31 GMT 1, Yes it is famous and I used it for the stencil (and for a white sticker on the front doors) I discovered that symbol for the first at a U2 concert, Bono was wearing it as a bandana :-)

French MoneyArtist, by Cedric Mnich on Apr 17, 2012 8:50:45 GMT 1, Thanks boaty for giving me the opportunity to discuss that piece. This is exactly its purpose : have people build their own interpretation of that scene. Some people suggested me some different interpretations : for example a Russian Roulette game (though it is not the idea). Your point is very interesting "who ever reaches for that gun first is the weakest one". The situation is indeed there : They can coexist as long as they stare at each other without agression. The first one to move would have the others move at the same time (and most likely interpret the other's move as an intention to grab the gun first !). It is a state of very uncertain and fragile equilibrium.

French MoneyArtist, by Cedric Mnich on May 3, 2012 14:46:47 GMT 1, Hello
my pleasure to show my latest artwork. This is called "Tradart's Anatomy". It's a collaborative work between Jerome Btesh (a french contemporary artist) and I. We curated together a show in Paris last year about Money, Finance and Art and this is the result of our friendship :-) This is a lightbox, 40 x 40 x 4 cm. co-signed and numbered edition of 7 + 2 AP. (the radiography is my own ribscage :-)

French MoneyArtist, by Cedric Mnich on Nov 5, 2012 10:35:49 GMT 1, Hello guys,
I just edited a very small AP edition of 3 of the following print (in RED edition) for 2 friends. It is Digigraphy printing, 40x 60 cm on Canson Arches Velin Museum Rag 315gsm. I have one still available though (50 EUR + S&H), if anyone is interested, just drop me a line. There is a pic on my facebook, can't post the link here as FB is NSFW.
Thanks

French MoneyArtist, by Cedric Mnich on Aug 29, 2013 9:42:56 GMT 1, WARNING : SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION HERE AFTER )
The Tradart Anatomy piece has entered CHRISTIE'S Paris - European Contemporary Sculpture collection. This limited edition of 7 has still 3 items available.
Another piece, GREED'S Soups, recently entered NEUFLIZE OBC Bank collection in Paris .
I know many pieces are not people's taste here because not related to Urban Art, but well, sharing joy and stuff hurts no one :-p
