Well at least it created a strong reaction from you. More than some other art does for me.

RAE BK ๐บ๐ธ Brooklyn New York Street Artist, by darhart on Jul 26, 2011 11:53:33 GMT 1, Reminds me of the band "Busted". Ie: contrived nonsense put together to resemble something real but is in fact manufactured rubbish with the authenticity of a Chinese Rolex.
Bandwagon jumping of the worst kind, it just devalues the whole scene, it screams of, "hey look at all the money I could make if I knocked up some of this "Art", hmm I'll steal a bit of Bast and mix it up with some Basquiat and hey presto $$$$"
I'm very surprised to see Dain involved being as he's Basts brother, very worrying.
Sorry I don't mean to be rude, but I've spent thousands of pounds buying into Bast's rawness and creative energy that seems to jump from the paper and scream genuine. Seeing this kind of thing makes me question the authenticity of it all?

RAE BK ๐บ๐ธ Brooklyn New York Street Artist, by pcant on Jul 26, 2011 19:04:18 GMT 1, Don't mean to be rude, but I think what you really mean is you don't like it and you're upset that others do. Why does it matter what any one else buys or likes? Is someone holding a gun to your head and making you buy Rae's art? And if you look back through the thread you can see (in my idiotic opinion, of course) an evolution of his work, suggesting he's developing a voice as an artist. I really like his work, dig the street pieces, and have a couple of his prints on my wall, so clearly I'm biased, but why does it bother you so much? You've spent money on Bast's prints because you like them. I've spent money on Rae's art because I like it. Isn't that the point?
