RAE BK πΊπΈ Brooklyn New York Street Artist, by stvro22 on Jul 16, 2014 22:28:53 GMT 1, If i had more wall space i'd pick up some more originals, some members have some great originals currently for sale for amazing prices.
Which pieces have you seen for sale? No funds at the moment but curious to know.
As far as "hypeeeee", the work speaks for itself. We get that it's not for you Samfrost. Your point has already been made before. Artists styles change all the time. Look at Keith Haring's early sketch books. You can only see the beginnings of what his later style became.

RAE BK πΊπΈ Brooklyn New York Street Artist, by Wearology on Jul 16, 2014 22:39:47 GMT 1, I have been collecting RAE's work for a while now and I have to say that my latest purchase is absolutely insane. His Jug / Ravel latest release is completely ridiculous. This is going to be the feature on my wall.

RAE BK πΊπΈ Brooklyn New York Street Artist, by brownbuffalo13 on Jul 16, 2014 22:50:36 GMT 1, This article is four years old and showcases older works that look nothing like his most recent works.
RAE seems to be doing very well without any type of hype from anywhere but his own social media platforms.
He also handles his own sales leading to even less hype.

RAE BK πΊπΈ Brooklyn New York Street Artist, by petro on Jul 17, 2014 0:37:11 GMT 1, Got home and opened mine. The print is truly amazing in person. Buuuut, please tell me if I'm being too OCD. There's what looks like a fingerprint in the top margin, which wouldn't bother me too much, but on top of that there's what looks like masking tape residue. Should I care about this? It kinda makes me not want to invest the money in framing. Should I contact the gallery? Or am I being to OCD?

This is on the front. I'm just messing with ya. If it were me I'd probably at least ask the gallery because I have insane OCD and it would drive me mad. I had a print with a small defect and once I saw it, every time I looked at it my eyes went straight to the mark.

Yeah, that's how I am, too, so this would end up in the flat file rather than on the wall. Also, I know what happens to masking tape residue on paper over timeβit'll discolor and turn yellow.

RAE BK πΊπΈ Brooklyn New York Street Artist, by Someones Brain on Jul 17, 2014 13:40:09 GMT 1, So this "tape residue" does concern you while the blue or black dots/spots next to it are considered to add to the orginal feel of the piece? Did you notice that the border of the yellow background isn't painted 100% accurately as well? If you consider selling it below cost (because of the shown imperfections) please do not hesitate to contact me ...
... just kidding. To me, this Rae looks perfect. It's more like an original piece than a print and in conjunction with the "rawness" of Rae's pieces these small imperfections are part of the artistic process and thus part of the art. You shouldn't worry at all, or even better you should consider it the other way round: these spots etc. add to that piece as they prove it's not just a clean, unpersonal print but a handpainted/handfinished piece of art.

RAE BK πΊπΈ Brooklyn New York Street Artist, by Jameszee on Jul 17, 2014 14:19:45 GMT 1, I've just had my Jug through to work and it's chuffing awesome! Well pleased I went for it!
One thing I haven't considered is how I'm getting this (relatively large) flat print home from work. Taking this one home on either my motorbike or pushbike makes me hear the ambulance siren. Might have to slum it with the minions on the train tomorrow, it's for a special cause after all.

As for the dots, it can happen with a bad quality coloring paint but the yellow border, ouch painful to watch.
