Inside Art Collectors Homes, by Born Again on Apr 24, 2020 22:00:31 GMT 1, Hope I’m not boring you with my posts. Being in self covid19 lockdown the past several days, I’ve done all I can to not be bored to death. Yesterday’s project was trimming and repotting some bonsai trees to put by the Luke chue piece. Today’s was refinishing some vintage 60’s candle holders and placing them, along with lucite gold flake candles, behind the Opie pieces, by the Villalba painting. Tomorrow I’m thinking of cleaning my shutters, maybe sweep the garage.
Villalba is the top artist?

Inside Art Collectors Homes, by Charlie Bronson on Jun 6, 2020 22:55:49 GMT 1, Been finding mid century pieces in bad shape online and restoring them. Finished this vintage 1963 plant table yesterday. Came in pretty bad shape, wood and trim was damaged, pieces snapped off and it had no legs. Repaired the gold trim, sanded/stripped the wood, repaired the broken wood pieces, restained the ugly dark stain into a warm walnut, got rid of the brass oxidation, added some vintage legs and brass caps. Absolutely love how it turned out and it matches the retna print pretty well too.

Thanks. RIP because they’re not going to get enough light? I’m hoping they’ll be okay. I’ve got a lot of windows that let in a good amount of sun in that room. I’ve got around 40 cacti and succulents. I’ve had two die on me in two years. So far so good in terms of healthy/death ratio.

Sounds like ya got it figured it! Right on. A house without plants feels empty to me. I stand corrected

We’ll see. I’m really no expert. You may be right. I haven’t had any cacti/succulents in that corner yet. A few I have in a similarly lit room have started to grow in a strange, goofy shape and turn a pale green or pink. Reason being, they’re reaching for light. They call that effect etiolation. The goofiest of the bunch is pictured below. I kind of like it tbh. I’ll give it a month to see what happens.
