STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by digitise on Oct 6, 2011 19:24:17 GMT 1, Pfffff. Queued up for an hour, got to the front to be told that the last of the 14 available prints had been sold. Spent 60 seconds in the gallery and had to leave to avoid thumping the bloke that jumped the queue 2 places in front of me about 10 mins before the door opened.
I'll stay at home and buy online next time.

Nasty man, i thought the online release at 6pm, but prints at gallery at 6-30 was a bit shit to be honest..... If you queue for a show they shouldnt really release online untill the following day.... Just my point of view!!
Should'a hit him when he jumped the queue.......... :-)

STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by Wearology on Oct 6, 2011 21:03:06 GMT 1, Do you think this person will get the 265 pound BIN price? If not where do you think the flippers will end up selling this print for? My guestimate is between 150 pounds and 225 pounds.

STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by Warm Gun on Oct 6, 2011 21:06:58 GMT 1, I stuck my single mum artist proof on ebay for cost (£160) a month or so ago and didn't even receive a bid so who knows.
(decided to keep it anyway)

STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by pidge on Oct 6, 2011 22:25:17 GMT 1, I managed to get one down to queuing and getting there early, the edition wasn't worded well and I would have been pissed off if I had queued only to find out there were only 14 available. Little word to the gallery, if you state 6 then it should be 6, to you inside an extra 45 mins to take photos with the artist is all very nice, but for us outside in the freezing cold wind after already being stood in it for 2 hours Isn't cool. It then became a one in one out scenario which is ok when you are 10 years old in a sweet shop but not when you are there to buy a print, just thought it could have been handled better. Franco seemed like a cool guy and Stik friendly as ever, some nice pieces too.

STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by atomone on Oct 6, 2011 22:46:32 GMT 1, Rocked up at 8:30 as the tubes were buggered but hadn't planned on buying a print anyway so was happy to check out the pieces and have a beer! Seemed to be a hell of a lot of suity types which is not what I expected...grown men in suits discussing matchstick men on canvas...what is the world coming to eh! ;D Having said that, the work was pretty good apart from a sprayed banner that was being sold for 1k!! Had a chat to Stik and he was as nice as pie and doodled his trademark stikman on a piece of card that I took along with me on the offchance that i'd get to ask him for one! was a nice touch!

STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by letiss on Oct 6, 2011 22:58:32 GMT 1, Had a very enjoyable evening at the show and the gallery had put a fair bit of thought into how to use the space. Stik as always was great to talk to. As to queuing, the doors did open at 6:30 but as there was only one person to take the payment if you wanted to buy you had to wait your turn outside, but if you didn't want to buy you could go straight in. Also the queue really wasn't that big, I got there at 5:15ish and there were only half a dozen people in front of me. It was worth the hour or so wait as I'm very pleased with my new blue Stik.

STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by Deux Spin on Oct 7, 2011 9:24:47 GMT 1,
Sad to see these prints going to bad hands.
I enjoyed the show yesterday, and I was really impressed with the quality of the screen prints. Almost as nice as the originals with a Julien Opie style texture to them.
Mr Frameman is offering to frame them from £75, which in my opinion is a bargain!
On another note, the one we joked about looking like a POW queue prior to Banksy release didn't sell. Quite surprised as it was probably the strongest piece!

STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by eschiff on Oct 7, 2011 10:27:48 GMT 1, probably cause it was priced at a crazy level. I really like Stik and his work, have no problem paying 100 quid for a print, but anything over that seems a bit over kill.
you could go to Outsiders and get one of the amazing Sage Vaugh/Michael Muller OGs for that money.

STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by atomone on Oct 7, 2011 11:39:17 GMT 1, Cheers guys, I have to agree to be honest and it felt like the best piece from the show and at no cost too! Always worthwhile to find a random piece of card lying around and take along to a show with a marker and voila! Will be going in a habitat bacall frame tonight and my 3 year old daughter has already bagged it so everyone's a winner! ;D

STIK Solo Show - 6th Oct 2011, by mrblast on Oct 8, 2011 20:06:07 GMT 1, I emailed Graffik this this afternoon and they are taking commissions for Stik which are more inline with my buying power Canvas Sizes for Stik Bespoke Commission £600 Small 41cm x 61cm £900 Medium 61cm x 76cm £1,500 Large 122cm x 152cm I'm getting confused, here is what I've got from Graffik Gallery : Canvas Sizes for Stik Bespoke Commission £1,000 Medium 100cm x 100cm £1,750 Large 122cm x 152cm Which one is correct then ?
Well I contacted them today and was told the following:
Canvas Sizes for Stik Bespoke Commission
£1,200 Medium 100cm x 100cm
£1,750 Large 122cm x 152cm
So God knows what's going on. Sounds like the gallery has received some interest and is now trying to cash in. Somewhat prematurely in my opinion......
