Another Morons on ebay, by BK83 on Apr 2, 2007 2:41:23 GMT 1, Can eBay enforce that in any way? Its kind if terrible that these people are allowed to sell something that they dont actually have, what happens if it doesn't get shipped for some reason or what if it arrives slightly damaged from POW and the transaction has already happened? .. .

Yes.....they have to inforce it if you report it. It is part of their listing policy.

Another Morons on ebay, by theministerofsound on Apr 2, 2007 5:47:33 GMT 1, Anyone who does their research on these prints will not pay 900 GBP immediately. Anyone who truly believes that the going rate is not a fan but a speculator hoping to turn the print some day and doesn't mind that someone makes a ridiculous profit immediately.
I would like to believe that most people are patient, watch a few auctions that are not BIN, and see what the market is truly going to bear.

I agree this is what the wise collector should and does do.
I do however think alot of people panic and beleive that they need to get it immediatly because they may never have another chance which always seems to drive the first auctions to hiy ebay up in price. There are also most likly more uneducated collectors out there than we may think

His demand for a deposit wont work either, if it's been bid on with a fake account, he'll still be stuffed!

Well i'm not giving someone ยฃ533 for something they don't have, let alone handing over ยฃ3000 for a signed one.
I want photos, proof & reassurance that they're not going to bugger off with my cash.

You are forgetting the fact that a higher percentage of buyers will be in the uk.... having to risk it being shipped across the atlantic not once but twice, and probably get f**ked by customs for duty has put people off that. take that into account, plus the $60 for shipping it, and it would be higher if sold in the uk

Another Morons on ebay, by thwaites on Apr 4, 2007 19:15:03 GMT 1, yeah i just realised it was from the US. if i hadnt been able to get one i wouldnt have minded paying that price, although i definately wouldnt have considered buying one unless the seller actually had proof it was in their possession. serves them right for listing it before they received it.
